Cibiyar Aikin Gona ta Duniya (IITA) kungiya ce mai zaman kanta wacce ke aiki tare da abokan hulɗa don inganta ingancin amfanin gona da yawan aiki, rage haɗarin masu samarwa da masu amfani, da kuma samar da wadata daga aikin gona, tare da manyan burin rage yunwa, Rashin abinci mai gina jiki, da talauci.[2] Binciken ci gaba na IITA (R4D) yana mai da hankali kan magance bukatun ci gaban ƙasashe masu zafi.[3] An kafa cibiyar a shekarar 1967 kuma hedkwatar ta ke Ibadan, Najeriya, tare da tashoshin bincike da yawa da suka bazu a duk faɗin Afirka.[3] Kwamitin amintattu ne ke jagorantar kungiyar, wanda kasashe da yawa da kuma Kungiyar ba da shawara kan Binciken Aikin Gona na Duniya (CGIAR) ke tallafawa.

An kafa IITA a cikin 1967 a Ibadan sakamakon sha'awar Ford da Rockefeller Foundations na kafa cibiyar inganta ingancin abinci na wurare masu zafi.[4] Cibiyar ta wanzu ne tare da aiwatar da doka ta 32. na shekarar 1967. Wani ɓangare na burin farko na cibiyar shine haɓaka ingantaccen tsarin noma mai amfani, zaɓin da kiwo na nau'ikan amfanin gona masu yawan amfanin gona waɗanda ke tsayayya da cututtuka da kwari, da ƙarfafa binciken noma a yankuna masu zafi da wurare masu zafi. Cibiyar da farko ta kasance a kan ƙasa mai girman hekta 1000. Cibiyar ta mayar da hankali kan shirin inganta hatsi, shirin inganta hatimi da legumes, tsarin noma, da kuma shirin inganta tushen da tuber. Tsarin inganta hatsi da legume ya kunshi shirin soya, cowpea da tuber wanda ya hada da yam da cassava.[5]

IITA ta shiga CGIAR a shekarar 1971.[6] Daga baya ya kara kayayyakin itace kamar plantain da ayaba.

A farkon shekara ta 2024 Cibiyar Aikin Gona ta Duniya (IITA) ta horar da matasa a harkokin Aikin Goma wannan don karfafawa da haɓaka yawan aiki a Aikin Gora a Najeriya.[7]

Haɗin gwiwar Jigawa

Cibiyar ta haɗu da gwamnatin jigawa don sauya aikin gona a jihar Jigawa. [8] An tanaje shi a Najeriya kuma a afirika hakan yasa komai ya zama daidai da sauran su dai.

Cibiyar Aikin Gona ta Duniya (IITA) tana da haɗin gwiwa tare da gwamnatin tarayya ta Najeriya da Bankin duniya don inganta aikin gona a Najeriya.[9]
