Peter Gregory Obi (An haifeshi a ranar 19 ga watan Yuli, shekara ta alif 1961A.C) Miladiyya. Sanannen ɗan siyasan Nijeriya ne kuma ɗan kasuwa wanda ya kasance ɗan takarar mataimakin shugaban ƙasa a babban zaɓen Nijeriya na shekarar 2019 a ƙarƙashin Jam’iyyar Democratic Party. Ya kasance tsohon gwamnan jihar Anambra, daga ranar 17 ga watan Maris shekara ta 2006 zuwa ranar 2 ga watan Nuwamba shekara ta 2006, lokacin da aka tsige shi kuma daga ranar 9 ga watan Fabrairu shekarata 2007 zuwa ranar 29th ga watan Mayu shekarata 2007 bayan tsige shi. Kodayake an sake yin sabon zabe a ranar 29 ga watan Afrilu shekarata 2007, amma an sake naɗa shi gwamna a ranar 14 ga watan Yuni shekarata 2007 bayan hukuncin kotu cewa a ba shi damar kammala wa’adin shekaru hudu. Ya yi nasara a ranar 6 ga watan Fabrairu shekarata 2010 a karo na biyu a matsayin gwamna. Yanzu shine ɗan takarar kujerar shugaban ƙasa ƙarƙashin jam'iyar LP. A zaɓen da za ai a wannan shekara ta 2023.[1][2][3][4][5]

An haifi Peter Obi a ranar 19th ga watan Yuli shekara ta 1961 a Onitsha.  Ya halarci kwalejin Christ the King, Onitsha, inda ya kammala karatun sakandare.  An shigar da shi a Jami'ar Nijeriya, Nsukka, a shekarar 1980, ya kammala karatunsa tare da BA (Hons) a falsafa a shekarar 1984.

Ya halarci makarantar kasuwanci ta jihar Legas, Nijeriya,  inda ya yi babban shirinsa, makarantar kasuwanci ta Harvard, Boston, Amurka, inda ya yi shirye-shirye biyu, Makarantar Tattalin Arziki ta London, makarantar kudu maso yamma ta Columbia, New York, Amurka,  Cibiyar ci gaban gudanarwa, Switzerland  inda kuma ya sami takaddun shaida guda biyu a cikin Babban Shirin Gudanarwa da kuma Babban Jami'in Manyan Jami'an shirin. Ya kuma halarci makarantar digiri ta Kellogg na Gudanarwa, Amurka,  Jami'ar Oxford: Said business school  da Cambridge University: George business school.[6]

Shine shugaban hukumar tsaro da musayar kuɗi ta Najeriya.

Obi shi ne shugaban kamfanin Next International Nigeria Ltd, sannan shugaba da kuma darakta na Guardian Express Mortgage Bank Ltd, Guardian Express Bank Plc, Future View Securities Ltd, Paymaster Nigeria Ltd, Chams Nigeria Ltd, Data Corp Ltd da Card Center Ltd. Ya kasance shugaban matasa mafi karancin shekaru na Fidelity Bank Plc.  Kwanan nan ne tsohon Shugaban kasa Goodluck Jonathan ya naɗa shi Shugaban Hukumar tsaro da Musayar Kasuwanci (SEC) bayan babban zaɓen shekarar 2015.[7]

Peter Obi ya tsaya takarar gwamnan jihar Anambara a matsayin ɗan takarar jam’iyyar All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) a shekarar 2003, amma abokin hamayyarsa, Chris Ngige na jam’iyyar People's Democratic Party, hukumar zaɓe mai zaman kanta (INEC) ta ayyana shi a matsayin wanda ya lashe zaɓen.

Bayan kusan shekaru uku na shari’a, Kotun Daukaka Kara ta soke nasarar Ngige a ranar 15 ga Maris 2006. Obi ya hau mulki ne a ranar 17 ga Maris 2006. A ranar 2 ga Nuwamba 2006, majalisar dokokin jihar ta tsige shi bayan ya kwashe watanni bakwai yana aiki sannan washegari ta maye gurbinsa da Virginia Etiaba, mataimakiyarsa, hakan ya sa ta zama mace ta farko da ta taba zama gwamna a tarihin Najeriya. Obi ya yi nasarar kalubalantar tsige shi kuma aka sake sanya shi a matsayin gwamna a ranar 9 ga Fabrairu 2007 ta Kotun daukaka kara da ke zaune a Enugu. Etiaba ta mika masa mulki bayan hukuncin kotu. Obi ya sake barin ofis a ranar 29 ga Mayu 2007 bayan babban zaben, wanda Andy Uba ya ci. Obi ya sake komawa kotuna, a wannan karon yana mai kalubalantar cewa wa’adin shekaru hudu da ya ci a zaben 2003 ya fara tsayawa ne kawai lokacin da ya hau karagar mulki a watan Maris na 2006. A ranar 14 ga Yunin 2007 Kotun Koli ta Najeriya ta goyi bayan hujjar Obi kuma ta mayar da Obi kan mukaminsa. Wannan ya kawo karshen wa'adin mulkin magajin Obi, Andy Uba wanda zaben 14 ga Afrilu, 2007 Kotun Koli ta soke bisa hujjar cewa wa'adin shekaru hudu na Obi ya kamata ya kasance ba damuwa har zuwa Maris 2010.

Lashe Zabe A ranar 7 ga watan Fabrairun 2010, Hukumar Zabe Mai Zaman Kanta ta Kasa (INEC) ta bayyana Peter Obi a matsayin wanda ya lashe zaben gwamnan jihar Anambra na 2010, inda ya kayar da Farfesa Charles Chukwuma Soludo, tsohon gwamna, CBN . Wannan nasarar da aka samu a zaben ta karawa Gwamna Obi karin shekaru hudu a matsayin gwamnan jihar ta Anambra. A ranar 17 ga Maris din 2014 Peter Obi ya yi wa’adi na biyu kuma ya mika ragamar mulkin ga Willie Obiano.

Abokin takara A ranar 12 ga Oktoba, 2018, an zabi Peter Obi a matsayin abokin takarar Atiku Abubakar, dan takarar Shugaban kasa na Jam’iyyar Peoples Democratic Party a zaben Shugabancin Najeriya na 2019. Jam’iyyarsa ce ta zo ta biyu.[8]

A ranar 12 ga watan Oktoban shekarar 2018 ne aka naɗa Peter Obi a matsayin abokin takarar Atiku Abubakar, ɗan takarar shugaban ƙasa na jam'iyyar PDP a zaben shugaban kasa na 2019 . A matsayinsa na dan takarar mataimakin shugaban ƙasa, Obi ya yi adawa da shawarwarin daidaita tsarin mafi karancin albashi na kasa, yana mai cewa ya kamata jihohi daban-daban su sami mafi karancin albashi. A ranar 24 ga Maris shekarar, 2022, Peter Obi ya bayyana aniyarsa ta tsayawa takarar shugabancin Najeriya a karkashin jam’iyyar Peoples Democratic Party, amma daga baya ya janye ya bayyana cewa zai tsaya takara a karkashin jam’iyyar Labour.[11] [12] Kamar yadda jaridar Peoples Gazette ta ruwaito, Peter Obi ya rubutawa shugabannin jam'iyyar PDP wasika a ranar 24 ga watan Mayu kan ya yi murabus daga mukaminsa. [13] Rahotanni sun bayyana cewa Obi ya koka kan yadda ake ba wa wakilai cin hanci da kuma sayen kuri’u a zaben fidda gwani na jam’iyyar, yana mai nuni da cewa akwai ‘yan jam’iyyar da ke hada kai da shi. [14].
