Ogbonnaya Onu CON (an haife shi ranar 1 ga watan Disamba, 1951) ɗan siyasan Najeriya ne, marubuci kuma injiniya. Shi ne gwamnan farar hula na farko a jihar Abia kuma ya kasance ministan kimiyya, fasaha da ƙirƙire-ƙirƙire na Najeriya daga watan Nuwamba 2015 har ya yi murabus a shekarar 2022. Ya kasance Ministan Ma'aikatar da ya fi daɗewa.[1]

An haifi Ogbonnaya Onu a ranar 1 ga Disamba, 1951, ga dangin Eze David Aba Onu a Amata, Uburu, ƙaramar hukumar Ohaozara ta yankin gabas, daga baya jihar Imo, sai jihar Abia, yanzu kuma jihar Ebonyi Najeriya.[2] Ya fara karatunsa ne a makarantar sakandare ta Izzi da ke Abakaliki, babban birnin jihar Ebonyi a yanzu. Anan, ya sami sakamako da matakin (distinction) a Jarrabawar Sakandare ta Makarantar Yammacin Afirka.[3] Ya kuma zana jarrabawar Sakandare a College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu, inda ya kammala a matsayin ɗalibi mafi kwazo gaba ɗaya daga cikin daliban.[4] Ya wuce Jami'ar Legas kuma ya kammala digiri na farko a fannin Injiniya na Kimiyya a shekarar 1976. Ya tafi karatun digirinsa na uku a Jami'ar California, Berkeley kuma ya sami digiri na digiri na Falsafa a Injin Kimiyya a 1980.[5]

Bayan kammala karatunsa a jami'ar Legas, Ogbonnaya Onu ya zama malami a makarantar St. Augustine's Seminary, Ezzamgbo, jihar Ebonyi. Bayan kammala karatunsa na digiri na uku a Jami'ar California, Berkeley, Onu ya zama malami a Sashen Injiniya na Kimiyya a Jami'ar Fatakwal, kuma daga baya ya zama Shugaban Sashen na farko. Ya kuma kasance shugaban riƙo na tsangayar Injiniya sannan kuma an zaɓe shi a matsayin memba a majalisar gudanarwa ta jami’ar.[6]

 
Ogbonnaya Onu

Ogbonnaya Onu ya fara harkar siyasa ne a matsayin ɗan takarar Sanata a tsohuwar Jihar Imo a ƙarƙashin Jam’iyyar National Party of Nigeria (NPN).[6] Ya tsaya takarar gwamnan jihar Abia a shekarar 1991 a ƙarƙashin inuwar jam’iyyar Republican Convention kuma ya yi nasara. An rantsar da shi a matsayin Gwamnan Jihar na farko a watan Janairun shekarar 1992.[7] Shi ne shugaban farko, a taron gwamnonin Najeriya. A shekarar 1999, ya kasance ɗan takarar shugaban ƙasa a jam'iyyar All People's Party amma ya bar muƙamin a hannun Olu Falae bayan haɗewar jam'iyyarsa da Alliance for Democracy wanda ya sha kaye a hannun Olusegun Obasanjo na jamiyyar PDP. Ya zama shugaban jam'iyyar All Nigerian People's Party a shekara ta 2010.[8] A shekarar 2013, jam’iyyarsa ta ANPP ta yi nasarar hadewa da Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Democratic People’s Party (DPP) da wasu ‘ya’yan jam’iyyar All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) suka kafa jam’iyyar. Jam'iyyar All Progressives Congress (APC). A watan Nuwambar 2015 ne shugaban ƙasa Muhammadu Buhari ya naɗa shi ministan kimiyya da fasaha.[9][10] A ranar 21 ga Agusta, 2019, Shugaba Muhammadu Buhari ya sake rantsar da shi a matsayin Ministan Kimiyya da Fasaha.

Kyaututtuka da nasarori

Onu ƙwararren memba ne na Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, ɗan'uwan Cibiyar Injiniya ta Najeriya,[11] ɗan'uwa na Ƙungiyar Injiniyoyi ta Najeriya.[12] A matsayinsa na Ministan Kimiyya da Fasaha, ya fara bikin makon kimiyya da fasaha na ƙasa wanda aka gudanar da bugu na farko a ranakun 13 zuwa 17 ga Afrilu 2017 a Abuja sannan a watan Maris na 2018 don baje kolin masu ƙirƙire-ƙirƙire da ƙere-ƙere. Ya rattaba hannu kan wata yarjejeniya (MOU) tare da kamfanoni uku na ƙasa da ƙasa don fitar da fasahohin asali da abinci. Ya kuma rattaba hannu kan wata yarjejeniya da NASCO don fara kasuwanci na samar da biscuits masu yawan gaske. A shekarar 2016, ya bullo da wani shiri mai taken “774 YOUNG SCENTISTS NIGERIA Award PRESIDENTIAL Award (774-YONSPA)” da nufin ƙarfafawa da bunƙasa sha’awar matasan Najeriya a fannin kimiyya, fasaha, da ƙirƙire-ƙirƙire (STI).[7]

A watan Oktoban 2022, shugaban ƙasa Muhammadu Buhari ya ba shi lambar yabo ta ƙasa ta Najeriya mai suna Kwamandan Hukumar Neja (CON).[13]

Onu ya ce Najeriya za ta fara samar da fensir[14] a cikin gida Najeriya a shekarar 2018 wanda ya ce za ta samar da guraben ayyukan yi dubu ɗari huɗu/400,000.[15][16] Tun daga shekarar 2019, ba a fara samar da fensiran ba.[7] A shekarar 1999, kafin zaɓen shugaban ƙasa da kawancen jam'iyyar All People's Party da Alliance for Democracy, Onu ya shiga cikin rikici inda jam'iyyar APP/AD ta zaɓi Olu Falae a matsayin ɗan takarar shugaban ƙasa na hadin gwiwa.[17]
