Michael Adekunle Ajasin (Listen; 28 Nuwamba 1908 - 3 Oktoba 1997) ɗan siyasan Najeriya ne wanda yayi gwamnan jihar Ondo daga shekarun 1979 zuwa 1983 a dandamalin jam'iyyar Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) a jamhuriya ta biyu ta Najeriya.[1]

An haifi Michael Adekunle Ajasin a garin Owo, Jihar Ondo a ranar 28 ga watan Nuwamba shekarar 1908. Ya halarci Kwalejin St. Andrews, Oyo a tsakanin shekarun (1924-1927). Ya yi aiki a matsayin malami na wani lokaci, sannan aka shigar da shi Kwalejin Fourah Bay, Saliyo a shekarar 1943, inda ya sami digiri na farko na Arts a Turanci, Tarihin Zamani da Tattalin Arziki a watan Yuni, 1946. Bayan haka, ya tafi Cibiyar Ilimi ta Jami'ar Landan inda ya sami takardar shaidar kammala digiri a fannin ilimi a watan Yuni, 1947.[2]

A ranar 12 ga watan Satumbar 1947, Ajasin ya zama shugaban kwalejin Imade, Owo, inda ya ƙaddamar da wani shiri na bunƙasa ma’aikata, ciki har da tura malamai zuwa Kwalejin Jami’ar Ibadan domin samun horo. A cikin shekarar 1951 ya rubuta takarda wanda zai zama manufofin ilimi na jam'iyyar Action Group, yana ba da shawarar ilimi kyauta a kowane mataki. Ya kasance ɗaya daga cikin waɗanda suka kafa jam'iyyar, waɗanda sauran manufofinta sun haɗa da 'yancin kai kai tsaye daga Birtaniya, kula da lafiya na duniya, da kuma kawar da fatara ta hanyar manufofin tattalin arziki masu tasiri. A watan Disamba 1962, ya bar Imade College inda ya zama wanda ya kafa, mallaki kuma shugaban makarantar sakandare na Owo daga watan Janairu 1963 zuwa Agusta, 1975, lokacin da ya yi ritaya.

Ya auri Babafunke Tenabe, malama, a ranar 12 ga watan Janairu, 1939. Sun haifi yara huɗu maza biyu mata. Ɗaya daga cikin ‘yar sa mai suna Misis Olajumoke Anifowoshe ta zama babban lauya kuma kwamishiniyar shari’a a jihar Ondo.

Ajasin ta tsunduma cikin siyasar Najeriya kafin samun ‘yancin kai. A cikin shekarar 1950s, ya kasance mataimakin shugaban kungiyar Action na kasa, ya zama zaɓaɓɓen kansila sannan kuma shugaban karamar hukumar Owo wanda ya haɗa da Owo, Idashen, Emure Ile, Ipele, Arimogija, Ute, Elerenla, Okeluse da kuma wasu ƙauyuka kaɗan. An kuma zaɓe shi a matsayin ɗan majalisar wakilai ta tarayya a Legas. [3] Ya kasance ɗan majalisar tarayya daga shekarun 1954 zuwa 1966 kafin sojoji su karɓi mulki. A shekarar 1976, ya kasance shugaban ƙaramar hukumar Owo kuma ya shiga jam’iyyar Unity Party of Nigeria lokacin da gwamnatin mulkin soja ta fara sabon tsarin dimokuraɗiyya. An zaɓi Ajasin gwamnan jihar Ondo a shekarar 1979, inda Akin Omoboriowo ya zama mataimakinsa. Daga baya Omoboriowo ya yi kaca-kaca da shi, inda ya koma jam’iyyar NPN ta kasa, inda ya fafata da Ajasin a zaɓen shekara ta 1983, aka kuma bayyana shi a matsayin wanda ya lashe zaɓen. Daga baya aka soke sakamakon sannan aka rantsar da Ajasin a karo na biyu. Ajasin ya riƙe mukamin har zuwa juyin mulkin da sojoji suka yi a ranar 31 ga watan Disamba 1983 wanda ya kawo Janar Muhammadu Buhari kan ƙaragar mulki.

A matsayinsa na gwamna, Ajasin ya rattaba hannu kan dokar kafa Jami’ar Jihar Ondo a shekarar 1982 a Ado-Ekiti, wacce ke Jihar Ekiti ta Najeriya a yau. A shekarar 2000, lokacin gwamnatin Cif Adebayo Adefarati, an kafa wata sabuwar jami’a a Akungba Akoko, daga baya aka sanyawa jami’ar Adekunle Ajasin a matsayin girmamawa. Ya kuma bude Polytechnic, Owo.

Ajasin ya kasance shugaban jam'iyyar National Democratic Coalition wanda aka fi sani da NADECO a Najeriya. An kafa kungiyar ne domin kawo karshen gwamnatin mulkin soja ta Sani Abacha da gwamnatin don girmama wa'adin zaɓe da aka baiwa MKO Abiola. [4] A shekarar 1995, gwamnatin mulkin soja ta Abacha ta kama shi tare da wasu masu fafutuka 39 saboda gudanar da wani taron siyasa da ya saba wa doka.
