Mariam Yalwaji Katagum (An haife ta ranar 18 ga watan Nuwamba, shekara ta 1954) a Azare, jihar Bauchi[1] ta kasance Jakadiyar Najeriya a UNESCO[2] [3]kuma itace sakatariya ta dindindin, kuma itace Ministan masana'antu, cinikayya da zuba jari daga jihar Bauchi a Najeriya.[4][5]

A shekara ta 1976, Mariam Y. Katagum ta samu digiri na farko a fannin Turanci (BA. English) da kuma takardar shaidar kammala karatun digiri a jami’ar Ahmadu Bello da ke Zariya.[2] A shekara ta 1985, ta samu digiri a fannin Gudanar da Tsare-tsare a Jami’ar Legas. A cikin shekara ta alif 1999, Mariam Katagum ta sami Takaddar Shaida a (Social Development Policy, Planning and Practice) a Kwalejin Jami'ar, London. A wannan shekarar ne aka ba ta shaidar abota da UNESCO.[6]

Mariam ta fara aikin ta ne da bautan kasa (NYSC), a hukumar ruwa na jihar Jos.[1] A shekara ta alif 1977-1981, Mariam ta kasance Babban ma'aikaciyar Ilimi a Kwalejin Gwamnatin Tarayya da ke Azare. Daga baya ta yi aiki a "Federal Scholarship Board," jihar Legas (1981-1984).

Bayan shekaru goma sha biyar da suka wuce aka tura ta zuwa hukumar Nigerian National Commission na UNESCO (1985-2000).[1] A tsakanin shekarun 2000-2001, Mariam ta kasance Darakta a kan Ayyuka na Musamman a Hukumar Ilimin Firamare ta Kasa (National Primary Education Commission) da ke Abuja.[1] Tun daga shekara ta 2001, Mariam tayi aiki a matsayin Babban Sakatariya na Hukumar Kula da Kasa ta Najeriya (wato, Nigerian National Commission) ta UNESCO.[6] A shekara ta 2004 ne, Mariam tayi jawabinta na karshe a taron UNU -UNESCO akan yake-yake a karni na 21 a Paris. Farawa daga 2006 Mariam ta koma kula da Ma'aikatar Ilimi ta Tarayya ta kasa da kasashen waje. A watan Yuni, shekara ta 2009, Katagum ta zama Ambasada, Wakiliya ta Dindindin na Nijeriya a UNESCO.[6]

Ta yi aiki a wasu kwamitocin kasa da na kasa da kasa da kuma bangarorin da suka hada da Kwamitin Amintattu na Asusun Tarihin Duniya na Afirka (2009-2011), Rukunin Afirka ta Yamma a UNESCO (2009-2012), E-9 Group a UNESCO (2010) -2012), da Kwamitin Babban Ofishin UNESCO (2011-2013), Hukumar PX ta Hukumar Zartarwa (2013) da sauransu.[6]

A shekara ta 2017, Katagum ta halarci taron "Gala Night" na Makon Afirka, a shekara ta 2017 wanda Kungiyar Afirka na UNESCO suka shirya a hedikwatan ta da ke Paris.[7]

A watan Yuli, shekara ta 2019, shugaban kasa Muhammadu Buhari ya zabi Katagum a matsayin karamar Ministan Masana'antu, Kasuwanci da Zuba jari na jihar Bauchi, Najeriya. [8]A matsayinta na Karamar Ministar Masana'antu, Kasuwanci da Zuba Jari, Katagum ta karfafa a wajen kirkiro salon 'yancin kasuwanci na African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) mai matukar muhimmanci wajen cimma nasarorin da Najeriya za ta ci gajiyar su.[5]
