A gasar Commonwealth ta shekarar 2006 a Melbourne, Ostiraliya, Ekiring ya fafata a cikin 'yan wasa na maza da kuma taron gamayyar ƙungiyoyi. A cikin 'yan wasa ɗaya ya kuma sha kaye a zagayen farko, 17–21, 17–21 ta Sri Lanka Dinuka Karunatne.[2] A filin wasa na B na gasar rukuni-rukuni ya lashe wasannin guda daya a fafatawar da suka yi da Jamaica da Kenya amma ya sha kashi a hannun 'yan wasa daga Australia da New Zealand. Yin wasa tare da Abraham Wogute, ya yi rashin nasara a wasanni biyu na tawagar da suka yi da Jamaica, Australia da New Zealand amma ya doke biyu daga Kenya yayin da Uganda ta cire daga gasar a matakin tafkin. [3] Ekiring ya wakilci Uganda a gasar cin kofin Afrika ta 2007 kuma ya samu lambar tagulla, lambar yabo ta farko da kasar ta samu a wasan badminton a tarihin wasannin.

Ekiring ya fafata ne a gasar wasannin Olympics ta lokacin zafi da aka yi a birnin Beijing na kasar Sin a shekarar 2008, bayan da kungiyar wasan Badminton ta duniya ta ba ta katin shaida a cikin 'yan wasan maza. [4] Shi ne dan wasan badminton na farko da ya wakilci Uganda a gasar Olympics. [4] Ya samu bye a zagaye na biyu na gasar kafin ya sha kashi da ci 5–21, 8–21 a hannun Park Sung-hwan ta Koriya ta Kudu.

A cikin shekarar 2012, Ekiring ya kai matakin daf da na kusa da karshe na US Open. Ya doke Chetan Anand da ci 21–16, 21–12 a zagaye na 16 kafin ya sha kashi a lamba daya Takuma Ueda daga Japan 13–21, 12–21.

An zabi Ekiring don yin takara ga Uganda a gasar Olympics ta bazara ta 2012 a cikin maza bayan samun cancantar bisa matsayinsa na duniya.[6] Bai wuce matakin rukuni ba. A gasar Commonwealth ta 2014, ya kai zagaye na biyu, inda RV Gurusaidutt ya doke shi, wanda ya ci lambar tagulla. Ya kuma halarci gasar cin kofin maza biyu da mixed doubles da kungiya. [7]

Ya kasance daya daga cikin 'yan wasa 14 da aka zaba don shirin hanyar zuwa Rio, shirin da ke da nufin taimakawa 'yan wasan badminton na Afirka su shiga gasar Olympics ta 2016.

Ya yi takara a Wasannin Commonwealth na 2018 a Gold Coast.[8]
