Kamfanin jirgin ya fara aiki a shekara ta 2002 kuma yana da ma'aikata 194. Gwamnatin Najeriya ta sanya wa'adin ranar 30 ga watan Afrilun shekarar ta 2007 ga dukkan kamfanonin jiragen sama da ke aiki a kasar su sake samar da jari ko kuma a dakatar da su, a kokarin tabbatar da ingantattun ayyuka da tsaro. Kamfanin jirgin ya cika sharuddan Hukumar Kula da Sufurin Jiragen Sama ta Najeriya (NCAA) ta fuskar mayar da jarin jarin da aka sake yi masa rajistar yin aiki.[3]

A ranar 12 ga watan Oktoba, 2018, wani jirgin sama mai lamba ATR 72-202 na Overland Airways ya yi mummunar barna bayan da wata gobara ta tashi a lokacin da ake kula da shi a wani hangar da ke filin jirgin sama na Murtala Muhammed. Gobarar dai ta faru ne a sakamakon tashin gobarar da na’urar samar da wutar lantarki ta kasa (Ground Power Unit) na jirgin ke yi bayan an kunna injin din a cikin rataye.[6] [7] Ba a samu rahoton jikkata ba.
