Tarihin Rayuwa

Ta fito daga Idemili North a jihar Anambra. Ta sami digiri na biyu na Kimiyya a Physics (1980), Masters of Science in science education (1985), Masters of Science in Applied Earth Geophysics (1989), da Ph.D. a Ionospheric Geophysics (1995), daga Jami'ar Najeriya. Ta yi aikinta na digiri na biyu a Jami'ar Tokyo, Japan.[3]


Okeke ita ce shugabar sashen Physics da Astronomy a Jami'ar Najeriya, Nsukka daga shekarun 2003 zuwa 2006 kuma shi ne shugaban tsangayar kimiyyar jiki daga shekarun 2008 zuwa 2010.[4][5] Ita ce mace ta farko da ta riƙe muƙaman biyu.[6] Bugu da kari, Okeke ita ce farfesa mace ta farko a fannin kimiyyar lissafi a yankin gabashin Najeriya.[3] A lokacin da take shugabar sashe ta bayar da shawarar a kara yawan mata a sashen, wanda hakan ya kai ga ɗaukar sabbin malamai mata uku, kuma a matsayinta na shugabar tsangayar ta ba da fifiko wajen ɗaukar mata aiki a manyan makarantu a fannin kimiyyar jiki. Ta bayar da shawarar a ba da dama ga mata da 'yan mata a fannin kimiyya da fasaha.[5]

A cikin shekarar 2011, an zaɓe ta a matsayin fellow na Kwalejin Kimiyya ta Najeriya, babbar kungiyar kimiyya a Najeriya. An shigar da ita makarantar ne tare da Abba Gumel, farfesa a fannin ilmin lissafin lissafi kuma jami'in Kwalejin Kimiyya ta Afirka.[7]

Okeke ta sadaukar da yawancin aikinta don yin nazarin ionosphere da "la'akari da yanayin lantarki na equatorial." (Ma'auni ko Magnetic equator ya bambanta da equator ta ƴan digiri, kamar yadda duniyar maganadisu ta arewa ta bambanta da abin da muke tunanin gabaɗaya a matsayin iyakar arewa). Abubuwan bincike na Okeke sun haɗa da geomagnetism, kimiyyar yanayi, da kuma canjin yanayi.[4]

Binciken Okeke kan yadda ayyukan hasken rana a cikin ionosphere ke shafar filin maganadisu na duniya zai iya haifar da kyakkyawar fahimta game da sauyin yanayi da kuma taimakawa gano tushen abubuwan ban mamaki kamar tsunami da girgizar ƙasa.[8]

Ta yi nasarar kula da ɗalibai masu Ph.D. guda 12 da kuma kusan ɗalibai 28 masu M.Sc. A shekarar 2010, ɗaya daga cikin ɗalibanta na digiri na uku, Theresa Obiekezie, ta samu lambar yabo ta AU-TWAS matashiya masaniya a fannin kimiyya.[9]

An ba ta suna L'Oréal-UNESCO Ga Mata a Kimiyyar Kimiyya na Afirka da Ƙasashen Larabawa a shekarar 2013[10][11] don gagarumar gudunmawar da ta bayar don fahimtar bambancin yau da kullum na ion a cikin yanayi na sama wanda zai iya kara fahimtarmu na sauyin yanayi. An ambaci Okeke a matsayin ɗaya daga cikin Manyan mutane 100 mafiya tasiri a Afirka ta mujallar New African a shekarar 2013.[12]
