Ibrahim Idris Kpotun ɗan sandan Najeriya ne kuma tsohon babban sufeton 'yan sandan Najeriya. Shugaban kasa Muhammadu Buhari ne ya nada shi wannan mukamin a ranar 21 ga Maris 2016, ya yi aiki har ya yi ritaya a watan Janairun 2019. Ya maye gurbin Solomon Arase, wanda ya yi ritaya daga aikin ‘yan sanda a ranar 21 ga watan Yuni 2016.[1][2][3]

Kafin naɗin nasa, ya kasance Mataimakin Sufeto Janar na ‘Yan Sanda (Operations), FHQ Abuja. Ya kuma jagoranci rundunar ‘yan sanda ta wayar tafi da gidanka da kuma rundunar ‘yan sandan jihar Kano da kuma jihar Nasarawa a Najeriya a lokacin da yake riƙe da mukamin kwamishinan ‘yan sanda . [4]

Idris ya fito daga Kutigi, Lavun a Jihar Neja . An haife shi a ranar 15 ga Janairun 1959, kuma ya shiga aikin ‘yan sandan Nijeriya a shekara ta 1984, bayan ya kammala karatunsa na digiri a fannin aikin gona a Jami’ar Ahmadu Bello Zariya. Ya kuma yi digiri a fannin shari'a a Jami'ar Maiduguri .

Idris shi ne IGP na farko kuma daya tilo a tarihin Najeriya da ya bayyana kadarorinsa a bainar jama’a kuma ya samu yabo daga hukumar kula da da’ar ma’aikata bisa bin ƙa’idar kaddarorin da ya bi kuma shi ne IGP daya tilo da ya tura mace jami’a a runduna a matakin jiha.[5]
