Asheik Jarma
Asheik Jarma an zaɓe shi a matsayin Gwamnan Jihar Borno dake Najeriya a cikin watan Oktoban 1983, inda ya riƙe muƙami na ɗan lokaci har zuwa juyin mulkin da sojoji suka yi a ranar 31 ga Disamban 1983 wanda ya kawo Janar Mohammadu Buhari kan karagar mulki. An zaɓe shi a dandalin jam’iyyar National Party of Nigeria (NPN).[1]

Tun a shekara ta 1999 aka dawo da mulkin dimokuraɗiyya, Jarma ya kasance ɗan jam’iyyar PDP.[2] A cikin watan Afrilun 2001 PDP ta dakatar da Jarma daga kwamitin amintattunta na tsawon wata ɗaya saboda yin kwarkwasa da wasu ƙungiyoyin siyasa.[3] A cikin watan Nuwamban 2001 ya kasance memba na riƙo na tuntuɓar juna da kuma gangamin sabuwar jam'iyyar United Nigeria Democratic Party (UNDP).[4]
A cikin watan Yulin 2008 wani kwamitin wucin gadi na Majalisar Dattawa da ke binciken matsalar abinci ya ɗora Jarma da sauran su kan yin watsi da kwangilar silo na Fam miliyan 11.4.[5] A cikin watan Oktoban 2009 ya musanta cewa bai halarci taron ƙaddamar da ƙungiyar NDM da aka ƙaddamar kwanan nan ba kuma ya ce ya kasance ɗan jam’iyyar PDP na gaskiya.[6] A cikin watan Disamban 2009 Jarma ya amince da takarar Ambasada Saidu Pindar a jam'iyyar PDP a zaɓen gwamnan Borno a zaɓen 2011.[7]
