An haifi Shaikh Ahmed Lemu ne a garin Lemu dake Jihar Neja, Nijeriya, a ranar 21 ga watan Disamba, 1929. Ya fara karatun firamare a makarantar Alkur'ani a shekarar 1932, sannan ya halarci makarantar firamare a shekarar 1939. Daga nan ya shiga makarantar sakandare (Kwalejin Gwamnati) a Lemu, inda ya sami difloma a makarantar sakandare a shekara ta 1948. Daga baya ya shiga makarantar koyan aikin lauya da ke Lemu inda ya sami takardar shedar koyarwa ta tsakiya a shekarar 1950 da kuma digiri na biyu a shekarar 1952.

A shekara ta 1954, ya tafi Ingila karatu a Jami'ar London ta Makarantar Afirka da Gabas ta Tsakiya inda ya sami Babban Ilimin (Advanced Level) a Tarihi, Larabci, Hausa da Yaruka a 1961, ya sami Digiri na biyu a Afirka da kuma Nazarin Gabas a shekarar 1964.[4][5][6]

Lemu ya koyar da Larabci, Turanci da karatun addinin Musulunci a makarantar sakandaren gwamnati da ke Bida tsakanin 1953 da 1960. Ya zama Shugaban Kwalejin Malamai ta Arabiyya a 1970, da kuma Babban Sufurtanda na Ilimi a Arewa maso Gabas, Yammacin Nijeriya tsakanin 1971 da 1973. Ya kuma yi aiki a matsayin Daraktan Fasaha (1974-1975) da Daraktan Tsare Tsare na Ilmi (1975-1976) a Jihar. A shekarar 2009, an nada shi mai ba da shawara a Jami’ar Fountain da ke Osogbo, Najeriya. Baya ga rawar da ya taka a bangaren koyarwa da koyo, Lemu ya kuma yi aikin lauya, a matsayin Alkali a Kotun daukaka kara a Jihohin Sakkwato da Neja (1976-1977) da kuma Babban Alkalin Kotun ɗaukaka kara a Jihar Neja.
