Ibrahim Imam (1916 – Afrilu 1980) ɗan siyasa na Kanuri ne daga jihar Borno, Nigeria wanda shine sakataren jam'iyyar Arewa People's Congress sannan kuma ya zama ubangidan kungiyar matasan Borno. An zaɓe shi a matsayin ɗan Majalisar Dokoki ta Arewa a shekarar 1961, yana wakiltar gundumar Tiv. Kafin zaɓensa a shekarar 1961, ya wakilci gundumarsa ta Yerwa a shekarar 1951 bayan ya goyi bayan yajin aikin da ma'aikatan gwamnatin kasar suka yi.

Imam mutumin Kanuri ne daga gundumar Yerwa ta Borno. An haife shi a shekara ta 1916 a cikin wani dangi na aristocratic kuma ɗan uwansa shi ne shugaban gundumar Yerwa. Ya halarci kwalejin Katsina, bayan ya kammala karatunsa ya shiga gwamnatin Borno a matsayin mataimaki, sannan ya zama mai kula da ayyuka a shekara ta 1950.

A lokacin da yake aiki a matsayin mataimaki na injiniya a hukumar 'yan asalin jihar Borno, ya shiga fagen siyasa a matsayin wanda ya kafa kungiyar inganta rayuwar matasan Borno a shekarar 1949. [1] A shekarar 1951, ya tsaya takara ya lashe kujerar majalisar inda ya doke Waziri Mohammed. Bayan shekara guda da kafa jam’iyyar People’s Congress, wadda daga baya ta zama jam’iyya mai rinjaye a yankin, sai aka zaɓe shi a matsayin babban sakataren jam’iyyar; ya shiga tare da ɗimbin takwarorinsa daga majalisar yankin da suka shiga fagen siyasar sabuwar jam’iyyar NPC. A matsayinsa na babban sakataren jam'iyyar NPC, ya kasance ɗaya daga cikin fitattun masu yakin neman zaɓe na jam'iyyar, ya kuma yi yawon buɗe ido na tsawon dubban miliyoyi tare da bayar da goyon baya ga tsawaita jam'iyyar ta hanyar kafa rassa a garuruwa da birane daban-daban na yankin.

Bayan ya bar hukumar ta kasa, ya zama ɗan kwangilar gine-gine don kara kuɗin shiga a matsayinsa na ɗan majalisa mai daraja.

Ƙungiyar Matasan Borno

A shekarar 1954, Imam ya yi murabus daga mukaminsa na jam'iyyar NPC, ya fice daga jam'iyyar, saboda rashin samar da tsarin juyin juya hali na kawo sauyi ga ƙananan hukumomi a arewa [2] da kuma yunkurin NPC zuwa wata kungiyar siyasa mai ra'ayin rikau da mulkin mallaka. Bayan shekara ɗaya ya shiga kungiyar Aminu Kano ta Arewa Elements Progressive Union sannan a shekarar 1956 ya zama majibincin kungiyar matasan Borno da ta fito daga cikin mambobinta da rashin jin daɗin gwamnatin jihar Borno da kuma badaƙalar da kungiyar ta yi. Waziri, Mohammed. A shekarar 1956, ya karfafa haɗin gwiwar kungiyar NEPU musamman a Borno inda daga baya kungiyar ta samu kujeru biyu na yanki. Amma a cikin ’yan shekaru, Imam wani ɗan siyasa mai kishin ƙasa ya bukaci kuɗi don tsara kawance a Bornu kuma a yankin Arewa ya bar haɗakar saboda gazawar NEPU ta ba da gudummawar isassun kayan aiki don karfafa jam’iyyar a yankin. Ya bar NEPU ya kulla kawance da kungiyar Action Group sannan ya zama jagoran adawa a majalisar dokokin yankin.
