Abu al-Barakat al-Nasafi fitaccen malamin Hanafi ne, malamin tafsirin Alqur'ani mi girma ne. (mufassir),kuma malamin tauhidi Maturidi .Ita ce ma’anar tafsirin wahayi da haqiqanin tawili.

Ya kasance daya daga cikin manyan mutane na zamanin gargajiya na Shari'ar Hanafi kuma daya daga cikin fitattun malaman makarantar Maturidi a cikin al'adar Sunni, wanda ya ci gaba tare da Hanafiyya, wanda ya ba da gudummawa sosai a fagen kimiyyar Islama a ynkin Asiya ta Tsakiya, musamman ga yada tsarin Hanafian da koyarwar makarantar Maturidi cikin duniyar Islama kuma ya bar adadi mai yawa na al'adun kimiyya.
Ya yi nasarar aiki a rassa daban-daban na nazarin Islama kamar tafsir, fiqh da Kalam . Don gudummawar da ya bayar ga kimiyyar Musulunci an ba shi lakabi mai daraja na "Hafiz al-Din" (Mai Kare Addini).
'Abd al-Hayy al-Lucknawi ya yaba masa, kuma Ibn Hajar al-'Asqalani ya bayyana shi a matsayin "'Allamah na Duniya", kuma Ibn Taghribirdi ya ba shi lakabin girmamawa na "Shaykh al-Islam".[1]
Wasu malamai sun sanya shi a matsayin Mujtahid a cikin Hanafi fiqh . [2]
