1970s zuwa 1990s: Firing squad venue

Tun daga farkon shekara ta alif dari tara da sabain 1970, zuwa karshen shekara ta alif dari tara da tamanin 1980s, a lokacin mulkin soja, Bar Beach ya kasance wurin da aka kashe da yawa daga cikin ‘yan fashi da makami da masu yunkurin juyin mulki ta hanyar harbesu da bindiga.[2] A ko da yaushe ya kasance abin kallo na jama'a, tare da dubban 'yan kallo, ciki har da kyamarori na talabijin da 'yan jarida na bugawa.[3]

A shekaru da yawa, Bar Beach ya sami suna don cika bankunan sa tare da asarar rayuka da dukiyoyi.[6] Sau da yawa, hanyar Ahmadu Bello Way, wadda ita ce mafi kusa da bankunan ta, ta kan rufe ne saboda dalilai na tsaro. Bincike ya nuna cewa tsakanin mita takwas zuwa goma sha hudu na gaban rairayin bakin teku yana lalacewa a duk shekara tare da Bar Beach.[7]

2000s zuwa gabatar da: Eko Atlantic

A shekara ta dubu biyu da uku 2003, an tattauna ra'ayin birni na zamani a kan Tekun Atlantika a bainar jama'a. Za a ajiye shi a kan abin da ya kasance Bar Beach, daga ƙasar da aka kwato.[8] Za a kira shi Eko Atlantic City, wurin zama da kasuwanci "yana tsaye a kan murabba'in mita miliyan 10 da aka kwato daga teku kuma an kiyaye shi ta bangon teku mai tsayin kilomita 8.5"

Littafin Lagoon na Nnedi Okorafor na shekara ta dubu biyu da sha hudu 2014 an saita shi a madadinsa nan gaba inda Bar Beach yanki ne mai mai ban sha'awa kuma wurin fara tuntuɓar mutane da baƙi na waje.[13][14]
