Afolayan ta tashi ne daga Agbamu, a town dake cikin Irepodun Local Government area na Kwara State southwestern Nigeria amma ta girma ne a Lagos State.[2] Ta fito daga gida wadanda yawancin su yan'shirin fim ne, kuma ya'ce na shahararren dan'fim mai-shiri Ade Love wanda kuma shine mahaifin Kunle Afolayan da Gabriel Afolayan.[3]

Afoloyan tayi makarantar Coker Primary School a Orile Iganmu, a wani gari dake Jihar Lagos kudu maso yammacin Nigeriya gabanin komawarta Esie Iludun Anglican School inda ta samu shaidar West Africa School certificate. Ta kuma koma Oyo State College of Education inda aka koyar da ita aikin karantarwa.[4]

A shekara ta 2016, Afolayan wacce ta kasance acikin fina-finan Najeriya da dama ta fito taré da Ojopagogo da kuma Dele Odule acikin Yoruba film Arinjo.[5]
