Mary Salifu Boforo (An haife ta 25 ga Fabrairu 1951) tsohuwar ‘yar majalisar dokokin Ghana ce, mai wakiltar mazabar Savelugu, a yankin Arewacin Ghana. Ta taba zama ‘yar majalisa daga 1996 zuwa 2017, amma ta sha kaye a zaben fidda gwani na takara a zaben 2016.

An haifi Mary Salifu Boforo a ranar 25 ga Fabrairun 1951 a Savelugu, a yankin Arewacin Ghana. Kafin ta zama ‘yar majalisa, ta mallaki gidan burodi da sana’ar noma; kuma ta yi aiki a harkar banki. Ta sami horon sana'a a Cibiyar Koyar da Sana'o'i ta ƙasa a 1972.[1][2]

Rayuwar Siyasa

Tun daga watan Janairun 1997, ta kasance ‘yar majalisa mai wakiltar mazabar Savelugu. A cikin 2014, ta zama Mataimakin Shugaban Masu rinjaye na Farko. A halin yanzu ita ce ‘yar majalisar da ta fi dadewa, amma a shekarar 2016 a lokacin da take kokarin tantance mata a mazabarta a karo na shida, ta sha kaye a zaben fidda gwani a hannun Alhassan Abdulai Red. Hakan na nufin za ta bar majalisar ne a shekarar 2017. Ta yi tsokaci bayan kada kuri’ar cewa hakan na iya yin tasiri wajen danne ra’ayoyin mata a yankin Arewa.[3][4]

Boforo ta kasance mai bayar da shawara, mai karfi don karfafa al'amuran mata da yara yayinda ta yi aiki a kungiyar cigaban al'ummomin Ghana a matsayin jagorar mai ba da shawara kuma shugabar kungiyar mata 'yan majalisar dokokin Ghana. Ta shahara a Ghana bayan da ta buga wani rahoto a majalisar dokokin kasar wanda ya bayyana cewa "Yakin neman daidaito tsakanin maza da mata ya wuce shari'ar da aka yi don tabbatar da adalci a cikin al'umma amma a maimakon haka wani muhimmin hakkin Dan Adam wanda dole ne a same shi." Duk da cewa ta rasa kujerarta, ta bayar da shawarar bayar da gudummawar da mata za su taka wajen jagorancin Afirka ta Yamma, ta kuma ce abin da ta samu a yankinta, shaida ce da ke nuna mata za su iya inganta ababen more rayuwa don ci gaban al’umma.[5]

Zaben 1996

An fara zaben Boforo a matsayin majalisar dokoki ne a ranar 7 ga watan Janairun 1997 bayan da aka bayyana cewa ta yi nasara a babban zaben Ghana na shekarar 1996. Ta doke Alhassan Abudulai Abubakari na "New Patriotic Party" da Bawa Muhammed Baba na jam'iyyar "Convention People's Party" ta hanyar samun kashi 50.90% na adadin kuri'u da aka kada wanda ya yi daidai da kuri'u 14,971 yayinda takwarorinta suka samu kashi 19.00% da kashi 7.20% wanda ya yi daidai da 5,585. kuri'u da kuri'u 2,108 bi da bi.
