Rear Admiral Itunu Hotonu (an haife ta a ranar 18 ga watan Janairu shekarar 1959) hafshiyar sojan ruwa ce na ƙasar Najeriya . Daya daga cikin shugabannin mata na farko kuma daga cikin waɗanda suka fara zama masu zanen gine-gine (Architect) a cikin rundunar sojojin ruwa ta Najeriyar, ta taba aiki a matsayin mai koyar da malama a kwaleji da kuma Ƙasashen waje kamar a kasar Laberiya . A watan Disamba na shekarar 2012 ta zama mace ta farko a Afirka.[1] [2][3][4][5]

Itunu Hotonu an haife ta ne da suna (amatsayin Itunu Tomori) ranar 18 ga watan Janairu shekarar 1959[6]. Bayan ta kai shekara 13 sai ta yanke hukuncin cewa ta so ta zama injiniyar gine-gine.[7] Hotonu ta karanci fannin gine-gine a Jami'ar Najeriya, inda a kullun ita ce mace kaɗai a cikin karatun.[8] Bayan da ta sauke karatu sai ta yi aiki a ofishin injiniyar gine-gine har na tsawon shekaru biyu yayin da ta yi karatun digiri na uku.

Hotonu ta nemi shiga cikin Injiniyoyi na Rundunar Sojojin Najeriya amma ance mata babu muƙamai ga mata a wannan fannin.[9] Sannan ta nemi izinin Navy, wanda bashi da hani game da jinsi. An karbe ta a matsayin mai Neman zama jami'a a Kwalejin Tsaro ta kasa, Abuja, a cikin 1985.[10] Ita ce mace ta farko da ta halarci makarantar kuma ta kammala a matsayin ta na gaba ɗaya wacce take aji na 73. Ta lashe lambar yabo ta kwamandan-sarki da kuma lambar yabo ta kwamandan domin kyakkyawan aikin bincike. Hotonu ta zama ɗaya daga cikin na farko da ya fara aiki a rundunar sojojin ruwan Najeriya.

Hotonu ita ce mace ta farko da ta fara aiki a matsayin malama mai Umurni (instructor) Armed Forces Command and Staff College a Jaji .[11] [12] A shekarar 2012 ta kwashe lokaci a Laberiya wajen horar da mata a cikin sojojin kasar. An haife ta zuwa matsayin girmamawa ta baya a watan Disamba shekarar 2012, ta zama mace ta farko a Afirka.[13][14]
