George S. Coumantaros ne ya kafa FMN a shekarar 1960 a matsayin kamfani mai zaman kansa kuma a shekarar 1978 ya zama kamfani na jama'a, wanda aka jera hannun jarinsa a kasuwar hada-hadar hannayen jari ta Najeriya.[2][3]
Shugaban FMN tun daga 2014, kuma tsohon Shugaba shine ɗan wanda ya kafa, John Coumantaros.[4] Shugaba Omoboye Olusanya.

A cikin 2021, FMN ta sami kashi 71.6% na Kamfanin Honeywell na Honeywell Flour Mills Plc.
