Chif Atanda Fatai Williams, SAN CFR, CON, GCFR (22 Oktoba 1918[1] - 10 Afrilu 2002) ya kasance tsohon Alkalin Alkalan kasar Najeriya.[2][3]

An haifi Williams a ranar 22 ga watan Oktoban 1918 a jihar Legas ta kudu maso yammacin Najeriya, da ne ga Issa Williams. Mahaifinsa ya fito daga dangin ciniki a Legas kuma Williams jikan Seidu Williams ne,[4] ɗan kasuwan Legas. Mahaifinsa ya kasance mai bin Harkar Ahmadiyya a Musulunci. Ya halarci makarantar firamare ta Ahmadiyya, kusa da Aroloya, Legas, sannan ya wuce makarantar Methodist Boys High School da ke Victoria Island, Legas inda ya samu takardar shedar makarantar West Africa. A lokacin karatunsa na sakandare, ya shiga kungiyar zamantakewa mai suna Green Triangle kuma ya zama abokai da Remi Fani-Kayode, wanda mahaifinsa lauya ne da Ibikunle Akitoye. A wasu lokutan kungiyar na zuwa kotu a dandalin Tinubu domin kallon yadda lamarin ke gudana.[4][4] Bayan ya samu takardar shaidar WASC, sai ya shiga aikin farar hula a matsayin magatakarda aji uku a sashin kula da lafiya. Bayan ya dawo daga Landan, ya yi aiki a takaice tare da majalisar dokokin Remi Fani-Kayode da Rotimi Williams kafin ya kafa nasa kamfanin lauyoyi a 1948. Ya shiga sashin shari’a na jihar Legas a matsayin mai ba da shawara a fannin shari’a a shekarar 1950. A shekara ta 1955, an yanke shawara ta yadda aka ba gwamnatocin yanki damar kafa matsayin Alkalin Alkalai da kuma kafa wasu dokoki. Bayan haka, an kafa kwamiti a karkashin tsohon Alkalin Alkalai, John Verity don sake duba dokokin yankin. Williams ya nemi mukamin mataimakiyar kwamishina a hukumar ta bita. Daga baya aka nada shi mataimakin kwamishinan shari’a na yammacin Najeriya, mukamin da ya rike har sai da aka zabe shi a matsayin mai ba da shawara kan tsarin mulki, wakilan yammacin Najeriya zuwa taron tsarin mulki na Landan na shekarar 1957, bayan shekara daya, ya zama babban magatakarda na babbar kotun tarayya. A watan Maris 1963 aka tura shi sashin shari’a na Ondo sannan a shekarar 1967 aka nada shi benci na kotun kolin Najeriya a matsayin mai shari’a. Ya yi aiki a kwamitocin shari’a daban-daban tsakanin 1971 zuwa 1979.[7] A shekarar 1979 ya zama memba na Nigerian Body of Benchers, a wannan shekarar aka nada shi a matsayin Alkalin Alkalan Najeriya ya gaji Sir Darnley Alexander.[8]

Alkalin Alkalai

Kafin bashi matsayin, Williams ya kasance alkali mafi girma a kotun koli tare da cire alkalai irinsu Udo Udoma da suka dauki mukamai a wajen Najeriya. Shari’ar Shagari inda karar Cif Obafemi Awolowo ta kalubalanci ayyana Shehu Shagari a matsayin zababben shugaban kasa na zaben shugaban kasa na 11 ga watan Agustan 1979.[10][11] Ya yanke hukuncin cewa Sheu Shagari ya samu kashi biyu bisa uku na kuri’un da aka kada, inda ya samu kuri’u miliyan 16.8 da kuri’u miliyan 11.9 a gaban Obafemi Awolowo wanda ya samu kuri’u miliyan 4.9.[12] A cikin Abraham Adesanya da mataimakin shugaban Najeriya, kotu ta yi nazari kan batun Locus standi [13] ta kafa wani hukunci da lauyoyin da dama ke sukarsa saboda hukuncin ya kafa misali na hana shiga kotuna ta hanyar masu kara sai dai idan ba su samu damar shiga kotuna ba. zai iya nuna sha'awar kansu game da lamarinsu. [14] Dangane da irin gudunmawar da ya bayar ga sana'o'in shari'a, an ba shi lambobin yabo da yawa da kuma girmamawa na kasa irin su CFR, COR, GCFR.[15][16]
