An haifi Tanella Boni a Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, inda ta sami ilimi har zuwa makarantar sakandare, kafin ta ci gaba da karatun jami'a a Toulouse, Faransa, da kuma Jami'ar Paris, inda ta samu PhD.[1] Daga baya ta zama Farfesa a fannin Falsafa a Jami'ar Cocody-Abidjan (yanzu Jami'ar Félix Houphouët-Boigny), da kuma rubuta waka, litattafai, gajerun labaru, zargi, da wallafe-wallafen yara.

Ta yi aiki a matsayin Shugabar Ƙungiyar Marubutan Ivory Coast daga 1991 zuwa 1997 [2] kuma ta shirya bikin waka na Abidjan daga 1998 zuwa 2002.
