A cikin shekarar 2019, asibitin ya haɗu da SIGN Fracture Care International, Amurka don magance naƙasar hannu. [2]

Asibitin Orthopedic na ƙasa, na Igbobi, Legas ya fara aiki a matsayin cibiyar farfaɗo da sojojin da suka samu raunuka a yakin duniya na biyu a shekarar 1943, daga nan kuma ta ci gaba da zama asibiti ƙarƙashin kulawar likitocin Turawan mulkin mallaka na Burtaniya na Turawan mulkin mallaka na Najeriya a ranar 6 ga watan Disamba 1945. Asibitin wanda aka fara kiransa da Royal Orthopedic Hospital a shekarar 1956 ya kuma taka rawar gani wajen jinyar da sojoji da fararen hula da suka jikkata a yakin basasar Najeriya na shekarun 1967-1970. An mika asibitin ga gwamnatin jihar Legas a shekarar 1975 sannan kuma gwamnatin tarayya a shekarar 1979.[3][4][5]

Asibitin tana da ƙarfin ma'aikata kusan 1300. Tana da rukunin kulawa mai zurfi da iya aiki mai gadaje 450. Yanzu ana kyautata zaton asibitin a matsayin babban asibitin kashi a yammacin Afirka. Bankin Mobolaji Anthony ya ɗauki nauyin wani sabon sashe na asibitin wanda ya haɗa da gyaran sashen gaggawa.[3][5][6]

Karamin Ministan Lafiya na lokacin, Dr Olorunnibe Mamora ne ya kaddamar da ɗakin jin daɗi da ke NOHIL wanda shi ne ɓangare mai zaman kansa na asibitin a ranar 1 ga watan Afrilu, 2021. An gina shi da kayan aiki na musamman don kulawa mai ƙima. Haka kuma a wannan rana, Modular Theatre mai suites shida an kuma kaddamar da aikin. [8]

A cikin shekarar 2022, an buɗe ɗakin gwaje-gwaje na kwayoyin halitta na zamani a asibiti don magance cututtuka kamar COVID'19 da yin gwaje-gwaje kamar PCR. [9]
