A cikin 1981, an amince da yarjejeniyar haɗin kai tsakanin Jami'ar Port Harcourt da Kwalejin Ilimi ta wancan lokacin, Uyo a tsohuwar Jihar Cross River. Wannan yarjejeniyar ta samar da masu digiri a Ilimi a cikin 1985 (duba littafin 6th Convocation) da 1986.
