Egbin Power Plc ita ce tashar samar da wutar lantarki mafi girma a Najeriya mai karfin MW 1,320 wanda ta kunshi rukuni 6 na 220MW daga ko ina. Tashar tana Ijede / Egbin, birnin Ikorodu,[1] Tana nan a tsaknanin kilomita 40 km daga arewa maso gabas da birnin Lagos, kuma tana wani kwari a Ijede kuma tana iyaka da Lagoon daga kudu, Agura/Gberigbe daga arewa kuma tana cikin karamar hukumar Ijede.

Bayan tattaunawa da kuma biyan dala miliyan 407.3,[5] Gwamnatin tarayyar Najeriya ta mika kamfanin samar da wutar lantarki na Egbin ga masu zuba jari, hadin gwiwa tsakanin kamfanin wutar lantarki na Sahara da KEPCO, a ranar 1 ga Nuwamba, 2013.[6] Yunkuri na farko na mayar da kamfanin wutar lantarki na Egbin zuwa kamfanin hannun 'yan kasuwa ya faru ne a watan Mayun 2007 lokacin da KEPCO Energy Resources ta yi tayin biyan dala miliyan 280 don mallakar kashi 51 na hannun jarin kamfanin. Kamar yadda tabbatar da ribarsu KEPCO ta biya dala miliyan 28, kasancewar farkon biyan kashi 10 cikin 100 na farashin.

Ofishin ya sanya wa'adin biyan dala miliyan 407.3 (kimanin Naira biliyan 63.95), wanda shi ne sabon farashin da aka kiyasta kashi 70% na kamfanin.[7]

Gyaran Unit Six (ST-06) a Egbin, wanda ya bututunsa ya fashe a cikin 2006, ya faru ne a cikin Nuwamba, 2014 kuma an kammala shi a watan Janairun 2015.[8] Wannan gyare-gyaren ya mayar da shukar zuwa cikakken ƙarfinta na 1320MW kuma Hitachi ne ya yi shi.

Korea Electrical Power Nigeria Limited a halin yanzu yana aiki a matsayin abokin aikin fasaha da Kamfanin wutar lantarki na Sahara da nufin yin garambawul ga dukkan na'urorin da ke cikin masana'antar, yayin da ake samun isasshen wutar lantarki da kashi 85 cikin 100 da karin inganci na kaso 34 cikin 100.[9]

A farkon watan Maris na shekara ta 2016, hukumar kula da masana’antar ta yi gargadin cewa tana iya yiwuwa a rufe ta saboda matsalolin kudi.[10]
