An haifi Fareda Banda kuma ta girma a ƙasar Zimbabwe.[2] Ta yi karatu a fannin shari'a a Jami'ar Zimbabwe, inda ta kammala a cikin manyan uku (top three).[1] Wannan ya kai ta ga samun nasarar Beit Fellowship zuwa Jami'ar Oxford, inda ta kammala digirinta na uku kan batun "samun adalci ga mata". Bayan kammala karatun digirinta, Banda ta yi aiki da Hukumar Shari'a ta Ingila ta Wales kafin ta koma Oxford a matsayin mai bincike na gaba da digiri.[1]

Ta kasance farfesa a Jami'ar SOAS ta London tun a shekarar 1996 a Makarantar Nazarin Gabas da Afirka. Manyan bangarorin aikinta sun haɗa da kare hakkin mata da dokokin iyali a Afirka.[3]

Banda tsohuwar mai bincike ce tare da UNRISD inda ta yi aiki akan 'Kare Yancin Mata.[4]

Fareda Banda tayi aikin koyarwa a Jami'ar SOAS ta London, Banda kuma tana koyar da shirin bazara a Jami'ar Oxford kan 'yancin mata. Ta kuma koyar da shirye-shirye a faɗin duniya a garuruwan da suka haɗa da Harare, Kampala, Onati da Oslo.[4]

Banda ita ce marubuciyar 2022 littafin ƙaura na Afirka, Haƙƙin Ɗan Adam da Adabi.[5] A cikin shekarar 2023, ta kasance shugabar bada lambar yabo ta Caine da Rubutun Afirka.[6]
