Fim ɗin ya kasance mai mahimmanci don amfani da ƴan Najeriya na cikin gida da ba ƙwararru ba a matsayin jarumai. Duk da yake ba nasarar ofishin akwatin ba, ya kasance don tabbatar da mahimmanci a cikin babban tarihin fina-finan Najeriya.[2]

Geoffrey Barkas (darektan, furodusa kuma marubuci) da kansa, a cikin tambayoyi da akayi masa game da aikinsa, ya yi magana game da wasan kwaikwayonsa daga "ƙabilan arna masu cin nama" kuma ya yi magana game da "makafin dabbanci."[5]

Mujallar Nigerian Pulse a cikin 2017 ta bayyana fim din a matsayin "mai nuna wariyar launin fata", kuma ta lura: "Duk da cewa an shirya shi a Najeriya, Palaver an yi shi ne don masu sauraron Burtaniya. Babu kuskure a cikin cewa labarin ya yi daidai da sanannen ra'ayin da aka sayar a Turai cewa masu mulkin mallaka suna yi wa ƴan Afirka wata tagomashi ta hanyar yin mulkin mallaka."[6]
