An zabi Moses Asaga a matsayin minista a shekara ta 2009 amma an janye shi bayan takaddama game da wasu lambobin yabo na tsohon gratia da ya ba da izini. Bayan da John Dramani Mahama ya lashe babban zaɓe na 2012, ya maye gurbin Moses Asaga da Nii Armah Ashietey a matsayin ministan ayyuka da walwalar jama'a[5]. Daga nan sai tsohon shugaban kasa John Dramani Mahama ya ba shi mukamin C.E.O na hukumar mai ta kasa a shekarar 2013.[4][5]

Moses Asaga ya yi digirinsa na biyu (BSc) a fannin Chemistry daga Jami’ar Kimiyya da Fasaha ta Kwame Nkrumah. Ya kuma yi MSc a fannin Injiniya na Man Fetur daga Jami’ar Aberdeen da MBA, Finance daga Jami’ar Yonsei. Bugu da ƙari, yana da MPhil a fannin tattalin arziki daga Jami'ar Durham, United Kingdom.[6]

Asaga masanin tattalin arziki ne kuma ma'aikacin banki.[7] Ya kasance manaja kuma mai ba da kuɗaɗen ayyuka na Kamfanin Man Fetur na Ghana (GNPC) a Tema.[8]

Asaga memba ne na National Democratic Congress.[9] Ya zama dan majalisa daga watan Janairun 2005 bayan ya zama wanda ya yi nasara a babban zabe a watan Disamba na 2004.[10] Shi ne dan majalisar wakilai na mazabar Nabdam.[11][12] An zabe shi a matsayin dan majalisa na wannan mazaba a majalisa ta hudu da ta biyar a jamhuriyar Ghana ta hudu.[13][14]

Waɗannan sun yi daidai da 9.3%, 29.9% da 0.9% bi da bi na jimlar ingantattun ƙuri'un da aka jefa.[16][17]

A shekarar 2008, ya ci zaben gama-gari a kan tikitin jam’iyyar National Democratic Congress na wannan mazaba.[20] Mazabarsa tana cikin kujeru 8 na 'yan majalisu 8 daga cikin kujeru 13 da jam'iyyar National Democratic Congress ta samu a wancan zaben na yankin Gabas ta Tsakiya. Jam'iyyar National Democratic Congress ta lashe kujeru 114 na 'yan majalisa daga cikin kujeru 230.[21]

An zabe shi a kan Boniface Agambila Adagbila na New Patriotic Party, Somtim Tobiga na babban taron jama'a da Tampugre Ayenyeta William na jam'iyyar Convention People's Party. Wadannan sun samu kashi 45.39%, 6.37% da 0.44% bi da bi na jimillar kuri'un da aka kada.[22][23]
