An haifi Marion Moss a Portsmouth a ranar 22 ga Oktoba 1821,ɗayan yara goma sha biyu na Amelia (née Solomons) da kuma Joseph Moss.[2] Kakanta na ɗaya daga cikin waɗanda suka kafa ƙungiyar Yahudawa ta Portsmouth,kuma kakarta,Sarah Davids,ita ce ɗan Bayahude na farko da aka haifa a Portsmouth.[3] Iyayenta sun koyar da Moss,kuma tun tana karama ta fara da 'yar uwarta Celia hadawar wakoki da labarai. [15] An buga fitowar ta goma sha huɗu kuma ta ƙarshe a ranar 8 ga Yuni 1855,kuma ta ƙare da waƙar "Akan Mutuwar Ƙaunataccen Yarona".[16]
