Lucy Ejike

An haifi Ejike a Enugu, Najeriya, a cikin shekara ta 1977.[1][2] Ejike tana amfani da keken guragu saboda cutar shan inna Ejike ta yi aure kuma tana da 'ya'ya maza biyu. Tana zaune a jihar Enugu inda take aiki a matsayin mai kula da wasanni.[3]

Ejike ya fara horo a matsayin mai ɗaukar nauyi jim kadan kafin Wasannin Paralympics na bazara na 2000 a Sydney, Ostiraliya. A wasannin Sydney ta yi gasa a cikin nauyin kilo 44 inda ta lashe lambar azurfa tare da ɗaga kilo 102.5 a bayan Fatma Omar na Masar.   Shekaru hudu bayan haka a Wasannin Athens, yayin da take fafatawa a wannan nauyin, ta karya rikodin duniya na Paralympic sau biyu a kan hanyar lashe lambar zinare tare da ɗaga 127.5 kg.[1] [4]

A Wasannin Beijing na 2008, Ejike ya tashi sama da nauyin nauyi guda kuma ya dauki zinariya a cikin taron 48 kg. Ta karya rikodin duniya tare da yunkurin farko, ta ɗaga 125 kg. Ta sake karya rikodin tare da ɗagawa ta biyu na 130 kg, amma ta yi kasa a gwiwa yayin ƙoƙarin ɗaga 137.5 kg a ƙoƙarin ta na uku.

Bayan nasarar da ta samu a Beijing, Ejike ta bayyana cewa tana da niyyar motsawa zuwa wani nauyi don kafa sabon rikodin duniya a aji na uku. Landan ya haifar da rikici a Wasannin Paralympics na bazara na 2012 a London tare da abokin hamayyarta daga Athens, kuma mai riƙe da rikodin duniya na 56 kg, Fatma Omar . [5]  Ejike ta jagoranci a zagaye na farko tare da ɗagawa na 135 kg amma ba ta iya inganta wannan ƙoƙari ba, yayin da Omar ta inganta rikodin ta daga Beijing tare da ɗawa ta ƙarshe na 142 kg.   Duk da rashin doke Omar, matan biyu sun kasance aji sama da sauran filin, kuma Ejike ya ɗauki azurfa, 17 kg a kan mai lambar tagulla Özlem Becerikli na Turkiyya.[2] [5]

Shekaru hudu bayan haka Ejike da Omar sun hadu a karo na uku a wasannin Paralympic, lokacin da duka biyu suka shiga wasannin 2016 a Rio. Bayan London kwamitin Paralympic na kasa da kasa ya canza nauyin nauyin nauyi ga maza da mata, kuma biyun sun fafata a cikin rukunin mata na 61 kg. A shekarar da ta gabata Amalia Perez ta Mexico ta kafa rikodin duniya a cikin 61 kg tare da ɗagawa na 133 kg, wanda Ejike ta wuce tare da ɗaginta na farko na 135 kg.[6]    Omar ta kasa a 133 kg a kan ɗagawa ta farko, amma ta yi nasara a wannan nauyin a ƙoƙarin ta na biyu.  Ejike ta inganta jagorancinta tare da ɗagawa ta biyu, ta kafa rikodin duniya na biyu na ranar tare da nauyin 138 kg.[1]  Omar ya amsa da ɗagawa ta ƙarshe na 140 kg, ya sanya Ejike a cikin lambar azurfa.[1]  Tare da yunkurin karshe Ejike ta yi nasara tare da rikodin duniya na uku na ranar, da lambar zinare lokacin da ta kammala ɗagawa na 142 kg don sanya ta lashe lambar zinare sau uku.[1]  Kazalika da nasarar da ta samu ta lashe lambar zinare, Ejike ta sami girmamawa a Rio ta hanyar zabar ta ta zama Mai ɗaukar tutar a bikin buɗewa.[7]

Ta yi gasa a Wasannin Commonwealth na 2018 inda ta lashe lambar azurfa a wasan mai sauƙi.[8]

A lokacin annobar COVID-19 dole ne ta zauna a gida kuma ta ba da rahoton cewa wannan ya shafi ikonta na horo. Ta sake karbar zinariya a Gasar Cin Kofin Duniya a 2021 a Manchester inda ba a yarda 'yan wasa su ci abinci a gidan cin abinci tare ba saboda ƙuntatawar cutar. An zabi Ejike a matsayin wani ɓangare na tawagar Najeriya don Wasannin Paralympics na bazara na 2020 a Tokyo inda ta shirya samun karin lambobin zinare da kuma karya rikodin duniya.[3] Ta lashe lambar tagulla a gasar mata ta 61 kg a wasannin Paralympics na bazara na 2020 da aka gudanar a Tokyo, Japan.[9] Bayan 'yan watanni, ta lashe lambar zinare a taron da ta yi a Gasar Cin Kofin Duniya ta 2021 da aka gudanar a Tbilisi, Jojiya.
