An haifi Kate Addo ga William Schovel Addo da Juliana Ahimah Aryee, duka biyu daga Babban Yankin Accra a Ghana. Ta halarci makarantar sakandare ta Ebenezer a shekarar 1985, inda ta sami takardar shaidar Ordinary Level a shekarar 1990. Daga nan sai ta ci gaba zuwa Makarantar Sakandare ta Accra don takardar shaidarta ta Advanced Level a shekarar 1992. Ta fara karatu a Cibiyar Jarida ta Ghana a 1996 inda ta sami Diploma na Jarida,[3] kuma a 2003, a Jami'ar Leeds, ta sami MA a Sadarwar Duniya. A shekara ta 2010, ta kuma sami Jagora na Gudanar da Jama'a (MPA) daga Cibiyar Gudanarwa da Gudanar da Gwamnati ta Ghana, kuma a shekara ta 2016, digiri na LLB daga Cibiyar Kula da Gudanarwa ta Ghana.

Addo ta fara aikinta a Kamfanin Watsa Labarai na Ghana a shekarar 1998 a matsayin Mataimakin Edita sannan ta ci gaba da zama mai ba da labarai, mai gabatar da talabijin sannan kuma mai kula da siyasa don shirye-shiryen har zuwa 2004 lokacin da ta bar.[4]

Addo ta zama mukaddashin Darakta na Harkokin Jama'a a Majalisar Dokokin Ghana a shekarar 2016 [5] kuma a shekarar 2020 an kara mata matsayi na Darakta mai Kula da Harkokin Jamaʼa na Majalisar Dokokin Gana. [6]
