A shekarar 1915, Mista Frederick Lugard, Gwamna Janar na Najeriya ne ya ɗauki nauyin wannan aikin a Unguwar Obun Eko da ke Legas. An kafa kamfanin samar da ruwa na Legas a lokacin a ƙarƙashin gwamnatin tarayya tare da gina ayyukan ruwa na Iju.

Cibiyar jinya ta Iju tana da ƙarfin ƙirar farko na galan miliyan 2.45 a kowace rana (MGD) kuma an gina ta ne da farko don samar da Ruwa ga mazauna Ikoyi masu Mulki a wancan lokacin.

Hukumar samar da ruwa ta Legas ta samar da babban tsari na samar da ruwan sha a Legas a matsayin “Road Map” don kai yawan ruwan da jihar ke samu ya kai galan miliyan 745 a kowace rana nan da shekarar 2020 a wani sabon yunƙuri na magance matsalar ƙarancin ruwa tare da tabbatar da samar da ruwan sha ga masu ruwa da tsaki yawan jama'ar Legas.

Iju Waterworks
