Kulango harshe ne na Nijar – Kongo da ake magana da shi a Ivory Coast da kuma iyakar Ghana. Yana daya daga cikin harsunan Kulango, kuma ana iya rarraba shi a matsayin harshen Gur. Akwai nau'ikan da suka bambanta guda biyu da za a yi la'akari da su daban-daban: Kulangu na Bondoukou (Bontusu), wanda kuma aka sani da Goutougo a cikin gida, da kuma bouna (wayo). Ethnologue ya ba da rahoton cewa masu magana da yaren Bouna sun fahimci Bondoukou, amma ba a baya ba. Bouna, bugu da kari, yana da yarukan da ake kira Sekwa da Nabanj . A Ghana, manyan garuruwan da ake amfani da yaren su ne Badu da Seikwa, dukansu a gundumar Tain, da Buni a gundumar Jaman ta Arewa, duk a yankin Bono na Ghana. Bugu da kari, akwai kananan garuruwa da kauyuka kusa da Wenchi a yankin Bono da Techiman a yankin Bono Gabas inda ake jin wannan yare. Daga cikin wadannan akwai Asubingya (Asubinja) da Nkonsia. Koulango matrilineal ne kamar na Akans kuma suna da irin waɗannan ayyukan al'adu.
