An haife ta a gundumar Mayuge ta yanzu kusan shekarar 1952, kuma ta halarci makarantar "Kabuli Primary School" don karatun firamarenta. Don karatun sakandare, ta halarci makarantar sakandare ta Gayaza, babbar makarantar sakandare ta ’yan mata ta allo, wacce ke Gayaza, gundumar Wakiso.[2]


A cikin shekarar 1975 ta kammala karatu daga Jami'ar Makerere, babbar jami'ar jama'a a Uganda, ta kammala karatun digiri na farko na Kimiyya da Diploma a fannin Ilimi, wanda aka ba ta a shekarar 1975. A cikin shekarar 1990, Jami'ar Karatu a Burtaniya ta ba ta Jagorar Kimiyya a Kimiyyar Abinci (Master of Science in Food Science). Daga baya a shekara ta 2000, ta kammala karatun digirin digirgir a fannin ilimin halittu, daga Jami'ar Makerere.[2]

Kafin ta yi ritaya, Florence Isabirye Muranga ta kasance Farfesa a fannin abinci mai Gina Jiki da Biochemistry a Sashen Fasahar Abinci da Abinci a Jami’ar Makerere. Tana da sha'awa ta musamman ga ƙimar sinadirai na 'ya'yan itacen ayaba, musamman nau'in da ake kira matooke. Ta yi wallafe-wallafe da yawa game da binciken da ta yi a kan batun.[3]

A cikin shekarar 2005 Farfesa Muranga ta gana da shugaban Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, kuma shugaban ya gamsu da binciken farfesa. Bayan shekaru biyu, shugaban ya kafa shirin shugaban ƙasa kan bunkasa masana'antar ayaba (PIBID) tare da naɗa Muranaga a matsayin Babbar Darakta. Shirin wani yunƙuri ne na ƙara ƙimar abinci, yana samar da kewayon samfuran matooke da suka haɗa da (a) biscuits ɗin Takee (kukis) (b) foda da porridge (c) fulawar da za a ci abinci da yin burodi (d) guntun matosai. na ciye-ciye (e) matooke flakes don hatsi da (f) matooke sitaci da sauransu.[2]

PIBID ta kafa gonar ayaba akan 24 acres (10 ha) yanki da masana'antar sarrafa matooke na zamani a garin Bushenyi, a gundumar Bushenyi a yankin yammacin Uganda.[2][4]

Florence Muranga ta auri Manuel Muranga tun a shekarar 1978 kuma tare su ne iyayen 'ya'ya maza biyu.[2][4]

A watan Nuwamban 2016, shugaban ƙasar Uganda ya naɗa kwamitin bincike kan al'amuran jami'ar Makerere tare da bayyana Farfesa Florence Muranga a matsayin ɗaya daga cikin mambobinta tara.[5] A cikin shekarar 2006, Cibiyar Gudanarwa na Majalisar Biritaniya, da ke London, United Kingdom, ta amince da Farfesa Muranga a matsayin ɗaya daga cikin "Mafi Girman Mata a shekarar 2006". A gida, ta ci lambar yabo ta Shugaban Ƙasa na Ƙarfafa Ƙwararrun Ƙwararru na Kimiyya a shekarar 2005/06 Shugaban Ƙwararrun Kimiyya na Shugaban Ƙasa don amincewa da aikinta na pomneering a kan matooke 'ya'yan itace.[2][4] Tun kusan 2000, Florence Muranga ta yi aiki a matsayin mataimakiyar limamin coci a Saint Francis Chapel, babban cocin Anglican a harabar Jami'ar Makerere a Kampala, babban birnin Uganda kuma birni mafi girma.[2][4]
