Bisa kididdigar da mujallar Forbes ta fitar a shekara ta 2011 na masu kudin Afirka a Kenya, Kirubi ya kasance a matsayi na biyu mafi arziki a kasar Kenya kuma na 31 a Afirka inda ya samu dalar Amurka miliyan 301 a shekarar 2011 da Forbes ta bayyana a jerin masu arziki 40 na Afirka. Ya kasance a bayan dangin Kenyatta kawai, waɗanda suka fi kowa arziki a Kenya a shekarar 2011 tare da darajar dala miliyan 500. Duk da haka, a cikin 2012, Forbes ta fitar da Kirubi daga jerin masu arziki 40 na Afirka.[3]

An haifi Chris Kirubi a cikin iyali matalauta. Duk iyayensa sun mutu tun yana karami. Ya fara aiki tun yana makaranta, yana aiki a lokacin hutun makaranta don ya ciyar da kansa da ’yan uwansa. Bayan kammala karatunsa, aikinsa na farko shine mai siyarwa, gyara da siyar da silinda gas na Shell, kamfanin man fetur.[5]

A shekara ta 1960s da farkon shekarun 1970s, Kirubi ya yi aiki a matsayin Mai Gudanarwa a Kenatco, kamfanin sufuri mallakar gwamnati. Tun daga shekara ta 1971, ya fara siyan rusassun gine-gine a biranen Nairobi da Mombasa, yana gyara su, ko dai sayar da gine-ginen da aka gyara ko kuma ya ba da hayar su. Ya kuma fara mallakar filaye a birnin Nairobi da kewaye, sannan ya ci gaba da gina haya da sauran kadarori na kasuwanci, ta hanyar amfani da lamuni daga cibiyoyin hada-hadar kudi na Kenya.

A cikin watan Maris 2020, ya shigar da takardar neman izinin doka don samun wani kashi 20 na hannun jarin Centum, don ƙarawa zuwa kashi 30 cikin ɗari da ya riga ya mallaka a lokacin. Yarjejeniyar ta shafi siyan hannun jari miliyan 133 da darajarsu ta kai biliyan KSh2.7 (dalar Amurka miliyan 25.7). [10]

Tsoffin masu zuba jari

A wani lokaci, Kirubi ya mallaki kashi 9.58 na UAP Holdings, wani kamfani na zuba jari da inshora wanda ke ba da zuba jari da sabis na inshora a kasashen Gabas da Tsakiyar Afirka. A cikin 2015, ya sayar da hannun jarinsa zuwa Old Mutual kuma ya fice daga saka hannun jari. [11]

A cikin watan Mayu 2020, Haco Masana'antu sun sayar da alamar BIC (stationery, lighters and shavers) ga ƙungiyar haɗin gwiwar Faransa BIC. Yarjejeniyar ta kawo ƙarshen shekaru 40 na ikon mallakar fasahar BIC na Haco.[12] [13][14] [15]
