Ta yi aure sau biyu. Mijinta na farko shi ne Abd al-Asad ibn Hilal,[2] memba ne na dangin Makhzum na kabilar Quraysh 'ya'yansu sune Abd Allah (daga baya wanda aka sani da Abu Salama), Sufyan, da Aswad. Abu Salama da Sufyan sun zama Musulmai yayin da Aswad bai koma ba. Daga baya an kashe Aswad a Yaƙin Badr.[3]

Mijinta na biyu shi ne Abu Ruhm ibn Abd al-Uzza daga dangin Amir ibn Luayy na Quraysh. Ana kiran ɗansu da Abu Sabra.[4] Barra ya mutu yana bin Allah ɗaya. Mijinta ya kuma aure Maymunah bint al-Harith, wanda daga baya ta aure Muhammad.
