Waakye[1] ita ce girkin shinkafa da wake na ƙasar Ghana, wanda aka fi ci da karin kumallo ko abincin rana.[2] Ko yaya, wasu suna cin shi don abincin dare. Shinkafa da wake, yawanci baƙar fatar ido ko wake na shanu, ana dafa su tare, tare da jan busasshen ganyen dawa na masara ko sanduna da farar ƙasa.[3] Ganyen dawa da farar ƙasa suna ba tasa ƙamshinta da jan jiki kuma ana fitar da dawa kafin a ci. Kalmar waakye ta fito ne daga yaren Hausa kuma tana nufin wake. Shi ne nau'in kwangilar cikakken sunan shinkafa da wake wanda ke nufin shinkafa da wake[4]

Waakye galibi ana siyar dashi ne ta hanyar dillalan hanya. An yi amannar cewa Hausawa da kabilun Arewacin Ghana sun fi iya girke-girke na waakye. Sannan ana nade shi a cikin ganyen ayaba kuma ana haɗa shi da ɗaya ko fiye na naman alade, dafaffen ƙwai kaza, garri, shito, salatin kayan lambu na kabeji, albasa da tumatir, spaghetti (wanda ake kira da talia a Ghana) ko soyayyen plantain.[3][5]

Abincin, wanda ya samo asali daga Hausawa, na iya zama asalin abincin shinkafa da wake da aka fi sani a yankin Caribbean da Kudancin Amurka, wanda aka kawo ta wurin cinikin bayi.[3]
