An haifi Nwakanma a Ibadan, Najeriya. Ya yi karatu a Government College Umuahia. Ya karanci Turanci a Jami'ar Jos, da kuma waƙa a Jami'ar Washington a St. Louis inda ya sami digiri na biyu a fannin, Fine Art. Ya kara zuwa Jami'ar Saint Louis da ke St. Louis, Missouri inda ya samu digirin digir-gir (Ph.D.). A halin yanzu shi farfesa ne a Jami'ar Central Florida. [6]
