Garin yana kan Kogin Leichhardt a can arewa maso yamma na Queensland, 1,805 kilometres (1,122 mi) arewa maso yammacin babban birnin jihar Brisbane . Garin karami ne, wanda marubucin tafiye-tafiye ya bayyana da cewa "bai wuce gidan giya da gidaje biyu ba". Otal din Kalkadoon shine kawai kasuwanci a cikin garin.[2]

Garin ya samo sunan daga tsohuwar tashar jirgin Kajabbi, wanda Ma'aikatar jirgin kasa ta Queensland ta sanya mata suna a ranar 29 ga watan Afrilun shekara ta 1915. An ruwaito shi kalmar 'yan asalin ƙasar ne, ma'ana kite hawk .[3]

Kusa da Mountain ya kasance wurin da aka yi rikici tsakanin mutanen Kalkadoon na yankin da kuma garken Turawa da sojoji ke tallafawa. Yawancin Aborigine na yankin an kashe su.[yaushe?] ]

An buɗe Makarantar Jiha ta Kajabbi a ranar 15 ga watan Satumbar shekara ta 1919 kuma an rufe ta a ranar 28 ga watan Janairun shekara ta 1975.[4]

A cikin shekara ta 1920s Kajabbi ya kasance cibiyar sabis na ma'adanai na jan ƙarfe kusa da Dobbyn da Mount Cuthbert . Garin ya kasance dogo ne a layin dogo a kan Dutsen Cuthbert da Dobbyn da shanu daga wani yanki mai nisa a arewa maso yammacin Queensland zuwa garin don yin zagin Cloncurry da kuma gaba. An buɗe Ofishin Kajabbi a ranar 13 ga watan Yuni shekara ta 1927 ( an buɗe ofishin karɓar kuɗi daga 1917) kuma an rufe shi a shekara ta 1973.

A cikin shekara ta 2009 otal din Kalkadoon ya rufe yana mai bayyana matsaloli tare da biyan bukatun ka'idoji.[5]
