Josiah Sobowale Sowande (ca 1858 -1936) wanda aka fi sani da Sobo Arobiodu mawaƙin Yarbawa ne daga Abeokuta, Jihar Ogun wanda ya kasance mawallafi na farko na Ewi, salon waƙar Yarbawa.[1]

Tarbiyar Egba da ayyukan kungiyar mishan na Kirista a Egbaland da kuma rera wakokin Egba sun rinjayi ayyukansa, ayyukansa sun fi mayar da hankali kan tubabbun Kiristocin Egba a matsayin masu sauraro na farko.[2]

An haifi Sobowale a Abeokuta, ca 1858. Ya koyi rubutu a cibiyar horar da CMS amma bai kammala karatunsa ba ya samu aiki a matsayin mai gadin gidan yari a gwamnatin Egba. Ya bar mukaminsa na mai gadi ya fara aikin noma da rubutu. Tsakanin shekarun 1905 zuwa 1934, an buga ayyukansa guda goma sha biyu, wasu daga mawallafin gwamnati na Egba inda ɗan’uwansa ya yi aiki.[3]

Ayyukan Sowande sun haɗa da Orin Arungbe, waƙar baka da ƙungiyar daba ke amfani da ita.
