Gandun Dajin Jigon Atewa
Jigon Atewa, (wanda kuma ake kira jigon Atiwa-Atwaredu) yana cikin yankin Akyem Abuakwa na kudu maso gabashin Ghana, kusa da garin Kibi, da kudu maso yamma na Kwahu Plateau wanda ya kafa iyakar kudu maso yamma na Tafkin Volta. Yankin yana gudana kusan arewa maso kudu, yana kunshe da tsaunuka masu tsayi tare da kyawawan tarurruka. Shine ƙarshen katako na Cenozoic peneplain wanda ya taɓa rufe kudancin Ghana, kuma ya ƙunshi tsoffin ƙasashen bauxitic. Yankin zangon shine wurin da ke da mahimmin ajiyar gandun daji, da kuma asalin manyan koguna guda uku.

Gandun Daji
gyara sasheAn ayyana babban yanki na kewayon a matsayin ajiyar gandun daji, gami da kusan kadada dubu 17,400 na gandun dajin mai gangarowa, ba kasafai ga Ghana ba. Wannan ajiyar tana karkashin kulawar hukumar kula da gandun daji ta Ghana tare da hadin gwiwar wasu masu ruwa da tsaki, muhimmi daga cikinsu shi ne Gidauniyar Okyeman, wacce ta takura wa mutane yin noma a yankin kuma a maimakon haka tana kokarin karfafa yawon bude ido.[1] Koyaya, ajiyar tana cikin matsi daga sare itace da farautar naman daji. Hakanan yana da sauƙi ga ayyukan binciken ma'adinai, tunda ajiyar tana ƙunshe da ajiyar zinariya da ƙananan bauxite.[2]
Yawancin nau'ikan tsire-tsire suna faruwa ne kawai a wannan yankin na Ghana, ko kuma a cikin wasu yankuna kaɗan kuma an bayyana sashi a matsayin (GSBA) mai kariya ta musamman (Yankin diaya daga Duniya mai Girma) biyo bayan binciken tsirrai na ƙasa game da gandun daji na Ghana da ke sashen kula da gandun daji na Ghana a cikin 1990s.[3] Gandun daji ya ƙunshi tsuntsaye da yawa waɗanda ba safai a wasu wurare a Ghana ba ciki har da Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo, Rufous-sided Broadbill, Least Honeyguide, Spotted Honeyguide, Common Bristlebill da Blue-headed Crested-Flycatcher.[4] A cikin balaguro na 2006 don nazarin wurin, masana kimiyya sun gano wasu nau'ikan nau'ikan dabbobi biyu da ba za a rasa ba a cikin ajiyar: Geoffroy's pied colobus (Colobus vellerosus) da olive colobus (Procolobus verus), kazalika da nau'ikan malam buɗe ido guda 17 da baƙuwar nau'in kwadin da ke da hatsari Conraua derooi. Butterfly jinsunan sun hada da Papilio antimachus, wanda yake da fika fukafukai a duniya da kuma Mylothris atewa, wanda ƙila zai iya zama cikin haɗari a duniya.[5]
Ya zuwa 2016, akwai kamfen da ke gudana don inganta Atewa zuwa matsayin filin shakatawa na ƙasa.

gyara sasheYankin Atewa shine asalin manyan koguna guda uku: Ayensu da Kogin Densu wadanda suka kwarara kudu zuwa tekun Atlantika, da kuma Birim wanda yake yin doguwar hanya arewa da kudu maso yamma kusa da zangon Atewa kafin ya hadu da Kogin Pra. Birim din, wanda yake ratsawa a dukkanin yankuna uku na gargajiya na Akyem na kasar Ghana, muhimmiyar hanya ce amma tana raguwa ta lu'ulu'u.[6]
