Buumi (bambance-bambance masu yawa : Buumy, Bumy, Bumi, da dai sauransu) ya kasance lakabin sarauta na Serer a cikin Serer pre-colonial Kingdoms of Sine, Saloum da kuma baya Baol. [1] Duk waɗannan masarautun Serer kafin mulkin mallaka yanzu suna cikin Sanagal na zamani. Koyaya, Gambiya ta yau, ana kiranta Lower Saloum kuma tsohuwar mulkin mallaka na Masarautar Saloum. A Yaƙin Fandane-Thiuthioune (18 Yuli 1867) wanda kuma aka sani da Yaƙin Somb,[5] Buumi Somb ya umarci sojojin gabashin Sine. [6] A cikin Masarautar Saloum, wacce ke da tsarin siyasa mai kama da Masarautar Sine, Buumis biyu mafi mahimmanci sune. : Buumi Kaymor (Buumi na Kaymor) da Buumi Mandak (Buumi na Mandak). Dukansu sun zauna a Kaymor da Mandak (a cikin Saloum), bi da bi. A cikin Sine, akwai kuma Buumi Nguess (Buumi na Nguess ) da Buumi Ndidor (Buumi na Ndidor). [7] Ko da yake dukkansu manyan mutane ne, bai kamata a ruɗe su da "Buumi" (magajinsu ba). [8]
