Bodo birni ne, da ke a cikin ƙaramar hukumar Gokana a Jihar Ribas, a Nijeriya.[1] Mutanen Ogonis na a cikin yankin ƙasar Ogoni.[2] A cikin shekara ta 2010, al'ummar na da kusan mutane dubu 69,000.[3] Garin kamun kifi da noma, Bodo an san shi a matsayin yankin ko wurin da aka samu munanan malalar mai a ƙarni na 21.

Manyan sana'o'in mazauna Bodo sune kamun kifi da noma.[3] Yawancin ayyukan noma ana yin su da hannu, da mata kanyi. Rogo na ɗaya daga cikin manyan amfanin gonakin garin da na yankin. Naman akuya kuma abincin gida ne, kuma yawancin mazauna Bodo suna kiwon awakai.[4]

Malalar Mai

A shekara ta 2003, malalar man "da kaɗan kaɗan" ta shafi shukokin mangoro a Bodo.[4]

A shekarun 2008 da 2009, malalar mai daga yankuna guda biyu daga bututun mai na Trans-Niger da kamfanin Shell Nigeria ke sarrafa ya zubar da akalla ganga 560,000 na mai zuwa yankin kauyen, ɗaya daga cikin malalar mai mafi girma cikin shekaru da dama da aka kwashe ana haƙo mai a Najeriya.[5] A matsayin garin na masu kamun kifi, an lalatar da rayuwar galibin mazaunan garin na Bodo.[6] An lalata yawan kifayen cikin ruwan, an lalatar da ciyayi, haka-zalika; ruwa, ’ya’yan itatuwa, da itatuwan duk sun gurɓata.[7][4] Har ila yau, lafiyar mutane ta taɓu sosai a cikin shekarun da suka biyo bayan malalar man.[8] A watan Janairun 2015, an tilastawa kamfanin Shell, biyan fam miliyan 55 a matsayin diyya kan malalar mai a shekarun 2008 da 2009 a garin Bodo, tare da kai fam miliyan 35 ga mutanen da abin ya shafa, sauran fan miliyan 20 ga al'ummar Bodo.[7][9] A lokacin, ana tunanin sasantawar ita ce mafi girma da aka biya ga kowace al'ummar Afirka sakamakon lalacewar muhalli.[9] Duk da haka, ya zuwa shekarar 2017, mazauna Bodo na ci gaba da jiran aikin tsaftace muhalli da kamfanin Shell din ya yi musu alƙawari.[8]
