AlƙalinAlƙalin Jihar Legas shi ne shugaban sashen shari’a na jihar Legas da bangaren shari’a na gwamnatin jihar Legas kuma babban alkalin babbar kotun jihar Legas. Daga 1967 zuwa 1973, ana kiran lmatsayin Babban Alkalin Kotun Koli.[1][2] Sau da yawa Gwamna ne ke yin nadin. “Sashe na 271(1) na Kundin Tsarin Mulki ya tanadi cewa ‘Nadin mutum a ofishin Babban Alkalin Jihar zai kasance ne ta hannun Gwamnan Jihar bisa shawarar Majalisar Shari’a ta Kasa, muddin ta tabbatar nadin da Majalisar Dokokin Jihar ta yi,''.[3]

Babban Alkali shi ne jami’i mafi girma na shari’a a jihar, kuma yana aiki a matsayin babban jami’in gudanarwa da kuma kakaki a bangaren shari’a.[4] Babban alkali ne ke jagorantar muhawarar baka a gaban kotun. Lokacin da kotu ta ba da ra'ayinta, Alkalin Alkalai - ta fuskar hujja mafi rinjaye - ke yanke hukunci kan wanda kotun ta zartar. Har ila yau, Babban Alkalin yana da gagarumin ikon tsara tsari akan tarurrukan kotuna. Babban alkali ya tsara ajanda don tarukan mako-mako inda alkalai za su duba koke-koke don tabbatar da shari'a, don yanke shawara ko za a saurare ko musanta kowace shari'a.[5]

Ana daukar babban Alkali a matsayin mai adalci mafi daukaka, ba tare da la'akari da yawan shekarun hidima a babbar kotun ba. Don haka babban alkali ne ke jagorantar tarukan da sauran alkalan jihar ke tattaunawa tare da kada kuri’a a kansu. Babban alkali sau da yawa ke fara magana, don haka yana da tasiri wajen tsara muhawara. Babban alkali ne ke tsara ajandar taron mako-mako inda alkalai za su sake duba koke-koke na masu shari'a, don yanke shawara cewa ko za a saurare kara ko akasin hakan a cikin shekaru masu zuwa.[6] Babban Alkalin ne a zaman shugaban hukumar.[7]

Rantsuwar ofis

Alkalin Alkalai ne ke rantsar da gwamna a wajen bikin rantsar da Gwamnan Jihar Legas.[8] A sa'ilin da kuwa alkalin alkalai ba shi da lafiya ko kuma ya gaza, babban Lauya (Attorney Gen.) ne ke yin rantsuwar. Haka kuma Babban Lauyan ya kan gudanar da rantsuwar ne a wajen bikin rantsar da Alkalin Alkalai.[9] Bugu da kari, alkalin alkalai ne kan rantsar da sabbin alkalan da aka nada da wadanda aka tabbatar.[10]

Ma’aikatar shari’a ta jihar Legas ita ce cibiyar shari’a ta farko da aka kafa a Najeriya wadda a da ake kira da ‘Colony Province Judiciary’. Kotun Majistare ita ce ta farko da aka kafa da makamantansu. An kafata ne a gaban Babbar Kotun, wanda a da ake kira Kotun Koli amma a yanzu ikonsa sun ta'allaka ne a cikin gida.[11] Kafa kotun majistare ta haifar da Babbar kotun, Kotun koli na jihar Legas a lokacin.[12] Lokacin da aka kafa Kotun Koli ta Najeriya, Kotun Koli ta Legas ta koma Babbar Kotun Tarayya ta Legas tare da nada John Taylor a matsayin Babban Alkali.[13]

A ranar 27 ga watan Mayun 1967, a daidai wannan shekarar ne aka kafa Jihar Legas, aka hade Babbar Kotun Tarayya da Kotun Majistare ta Tarayya, aka kafa Hukumar Shari’a ta Jihar Legas karkashin Jagorancin John Taylor, Babban Alkalin Jihar Legas.[14][15] Wa'adin Taylor ya cika ne a ranar 7 ga Nuwamba 1973 kuma mai shari'a Joseph Adefarasin ya gaje shi bayan nadinsa wanda ya fara aiki a ranar 1 ga Nuwamba 1974.[16] Ya yi aiki na tsawon shekaru 9 har zuwa 24 ga Afrilu 1985 lokacin da wa'adin mulkinsa ya ƙare.[17] Mai shari’a Candide Ademola Johnson ne ya gaje shi a ranar 25 ga watan Afrilun 1985, kwana guda bayan mai shari’a Joseph ya bar ofis.[18] Ya yi shekaru 4 a ofis kuma Justice Ligali Ayorinde ya gaje shi a ranar 10 ga Yuli 1989.[19] Ya yi aiki a wannan matsayin na shekaru 6 watau tsakanin Yuli 1989 zuwa Afrilu 1995.[20][21] Mace ta farko da aka nada ita ce Rosaline Omotosho, wacce ta yi aiki daga 12 Afrilu 1995 zuwa 27 ga Fabrairu 1996. [22]

A ranar 20 ga watan Oktoban 2017 ne gwamnan jihar Legas Mista Akinwunmi Ambode ya nada Hon Justice Opeyemi Oke a matsayin sabon alkalin alkalan jihar Legas. Hakan ya biyo bayan tsohon alkali Oluwafunmilayo Olajumoke Atilade ya cika shekaru 65 na ritayar dole.[23]

A ranar 10 ga watan Yunin 2019, Mai Girma Gwamna Babajide Sanwo-Olu ya nada Honourable Justice Kazeem Alogba a matsayin Alkalin Alkalan Jihar Legas. A ranar 21 ga watan Agusta 2019 aka tabbatar da shi kuma aka rantsar da shi a matsayin babban alkalin jihar Legas na 17.[24]
