Yaƙin Katamanso
Yaƙin Katamanso kuma wanda aka sani (Yaƙin Dodowa) yaƙi ne da Ga-Adangbe ya ci kuma ya hana Ashantis mamaye yankin tekun a 1824.[1][2] An ware shi a matsayin ɗaya daga cikin "Yakin Anglo-Ashanti"[3] bisa ga shaidar tarihi a Gidan Tarihi na Ƙasa.[2]

Tarihi
gyara sasheSarkin Ashanti ko Asantehene (Osei Yaw Akoto) a wancan lokacin, ya fusata a Ga-Adangbe saboda taimakon Fantes a yakin Asamankow na 1824, ya ba da shawarar a hukunta su. Ya yanke shawarar bin su, ko da sun tsere zuwa cikin kanfra (ƙaramin kifi mai lebur).
A ranar 7 ga Agusta 1826, aka fara yakin wanda kuma aka sani da "Yaƙin Dodowa".[4] Duk da haka ya sadu da gamayyar sauran sojojin 'yan asalin da ke kawance da Ga-Adangbe na Prampram, Ningo da mutanen Ada a ƙarƙashin Sarkinsu Tackie Kome. Sojojin Burtaniya, Holand da Danish gaba ɗaya ba su haura 60 ba, sun taimaka wajen yaƙi da sabbin makamai bayan wani hari da aka kai a bakin tekun a watan Yulin 1824. Asantehene ya tara sojoji 40,000. Hadin gwiwar Burtaniya tare da Ga-Adangbe, Fanti, Denkyira, Akwamu da Akyems a Katamanso kusa da Dodowa sun fuskanci sojojin Asante. Akyems ta kasance karkashin jagorancin Okyehene, Nana Afia Dokuaa, mace daya tilo mai mulkin wata babbar jiha.[5][6] Amma sojojin kawancen sun yi fafatawa da galabaita kuma sun ci nasara da Sojojin Ashanti da gagarumar nasara wacce ta gurgunta Daular Ashanti kuma ta kasance sanadiyyar asarar tsohon darajarta. Wannan ya ba da gudummawa ga ikon Burtaniya da martabarsa a kan gabar teku. Ashantis sun rike matsayinsu na awanni tara (6 AM zuwa 3 PM).[7]

An gabatar da salon gashin da matan Asante ke kira 'Gyese Nkran', (ban da Akra), wanda aka yi wa lakabi da Densinkran, don nuna alhinin mutuwar Asante a yakin Katamanso.
