Jami'ar Witwatersrand Makarantar Injiniya

Makarantar Injiniya da Injiniya tana ɗaya daga cikin makarantu bakwai a Jami'ar Witwatersrand ta Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment . [1] Makarantar tana ba da digiri na digiri na shekaru 4 da digiri na biyu a cikin sinadarai da injiniyan ƙarfe.[2]

An kafa Jami'ar Witwatersrand a cikin 1904 a matsayin Makarantar Ma'adinai ta SA daga asalin Makarantar Ma-adinai ta Kimberley ta 1896. Ya koma Johannesburg a shekara ta 1904 bayan yakin Anglo-Boer na biyu (1899-1902) kuma ya zama jami'a mai cin gashin kanta tare da takardar shaidarsa da doka a 1922. Duk da yake an ba da digiri na Injiniya na Metallurgical daga farkon, an ba da digirin Injiniya ta Chemical daga 1922 zuwa gaba. Injiniyan sinadarai da farko ya kasance wani ɓangare na Sashen Chemistry, kuma Injiniyan Sinadarai ya zama sashen daban a 1961. A cikin 1995, sassan biyu na Injiniyan Chemical da Injiniyan Metallurgical sun haɗu, kuma bayan ɗan gajeren lokaci a matsayin Makarantar Injiniya da Kayan aiki, ya zama Makarantar Injin Chemical da Metallurgic a cikin 2005. [3]

Makarantar za ta yi bikin ranar haihuwarta ta 21 (a matsayin hadin gwiwa) a cikin 2015 kuma tana da ayyukan da yawa da aka shirya.

Makarantar tana cikin Ginin Richard Ward a Gabashin Jami'ar. An sanya sunan ginin ne bayan Richard Ward (1891-1976) wanda ya bar R1 miliyan ga Wits a kan mutuwarsa.  A lokacin, wannan shine mafi girman adadin da ya rage ga Jami'ar.[4]

A cikin 2013, Makarantar ta fara manyan haɓakawa da sabuntawa na ginin, tare da shirye-shiryen kasafin kuɗi zuwa darajar R75 miliyan.[4]  Sabuntawa har zuwa yau sun hada da:

- bene na biyu (Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Coal, VOC da Syngas Laboratories)

- bene na 7 (wurin ofishin digiri na biyu)

Ayyukan da aka gudanar a ƙarƙashin wannan kujera za a iya rarraba su cikin Batch da Ci gaba da Haɗin Tsarin. A cikin Batch Process Integration bincike yana mai da hankali kan haɓaka sababbin samfuran lissafi don kama ainihin lokaci, wanda shine kashin baya na matakai na batch. Ana amfani da waɗannan samfuran lissafi a matsayin tushen inganta makamashi da ruwa a cikin wurare masu yawa. A gefe guda, aiki a kan Ci gaba da Haɗin Tsarin yana mai da hankali kan Utilities Debottlenecking don inganta makamashi da ruwa. Nazarin da Shugaban ya yi kwanan nan ya kuma magance tsarin da ke nuna ruwa-makamashi, kamar yadda aka saba fuskanta a cikin hanyoyin sadarwar ruwa da membrane.

Binciken Fasahar Karfe Mai Tsabtace

Kungiyar Binciken Fasahar Karfe mai tsabta ita ce gidan DST / NRF da ke tallafawa Shugaban Binciken Afirka ta Kudu na Fasahar Harfe mai tsabta. Kwarewarsa a cikin sarrafa kwal, halayyar, da aikace-aikace, suna daga cikin mafi kyau a duniya. Sha'awar kungiyar ta ta'allaka ne a cikin bincike mai zurfi game da kwal da carbon a matsayin kayan aiki, da kuma ci gaban fasahar da ayyukan masana'antu waɗanda ke kara ingancin jujjuyawar kwal da rage tasirin muhalli.[6]

Rukunin Binciken Ruwa na Masana'antu da Ma'adinai (IMWaRU)

Sashin Binciken Ruwa na Masana'antu da Ma'adinai ya ƙunshi masu bincike da yawa a cikin injiniyan sinadarai, microbiology da sauran horo, binciken magudanar ma'adinai (AMD), [7] wuraren da aka gina, sawun ruwa, kimantawar sake zagayowar rayuwa [8] [9] da sauransu.

Ƙungiyar Ma'adanai da Ma'adinai (MMERG)

Kungiyar tana da niyyar bunkasa sabbin hanyoyin, ingantawa da sababbin hanyoyin don amfanin karafa daban-daban daga tushe daban-daban, gami da ƙananan ma'adanai, sharar gida da kuma tushen karafa na biyu (misali kayan lantarki). Kungiyar ta kunshi Farfesa Selo Ndlovu, Farfesa Vusi Sibanda, Dokta Lizelle van Dyk, Dokta Geoffrey Simate da Farfesa Herman Potgieter. Ana kula da ɗaliban digiri na biyu a kan ayyuka daban-daban daga bioleaching na karafa zuwa hawan gas na vanadium daga abubuwan da aka yi amfani da su.[10]
