Innocent Azubike Umezulike OFR (21 Satumba 1953 - 11 Yuni 2018) wani masanin shari'a ne ɗan Najeriya wanda ya yi aiki sama da shekaru 13 a matsayin babban alkalin jihar Enugu.[1] Ya kasance babban alkalin alkalai mafi dadewa a yankin Kudu maso Gabashin Najeriya, kuma na biyu da ya fi dadewa a matsayin babban alkali a Najeriya.[2]

An haifi Innocent Azubike Umezulike a ranar 21 ga watan Satumba 1953 a jihar Ribas da ke kudancin Najeriya. Ya tafi Makarantar Sakandare ta St. Vincent, inda ya samu takardar shedar Makaranta ta Yammacin Afirka a shekara ta 1971. [3] Daga nan sai ya halarci Jami’ar Legas, inda ya kammala digirinsa na farko a fannin shari’a a shekarar 1976.

Ya shiga gidan talabijin na Najeriya a matsayin mataimaki mai ba da shawara kan harkokin shari’a ga kamfanin. An shigar da shi kungiyar lauyoyin Najeriya a shekarar 1980. [4]

A shekarar 1983 Umezulike ya shiga tsangayar shari'a ta jami'ar Ibadan kafin ya shiga jami'ar Nnamdi Azikiwe inda ya fara a matsayin babban malami a shekarar 1987 kuma ya zama mataimakin farfesa a shekarar 1992.[5] A watan Agusta 1993, an naɗa shi Alkalin Jihar Enugu, kafin ya zama Babban Alkalin Jihar; bayan ya shafe shekaru huɗu yana hidima, an zaɓe shi don yin aiki a Kotun Koli ta Gambia. An kuma naɗa shi shugaban kotun ta Bankuna da suka gaza shiyya ta 6 a Najeriya.[6]

A tsawon rayuwarsa, Umezulike ya rike muƙamai daban-daban a cibiyoyin gwamnati da masu zaman kansu, ciki har da babban mai ba da shawara na musamman ga Atoni Janar na Najeriya kafin a naɗa shi a matsayin alkalin jihar Enugu. Ya kuma rubuta kuma ya buga littattafai sama da 23 akan conveyancing, adverse possession, da dokar ƙasa da kaddarori a tsawon aikinsa.[7] [8]

Umezulike ya rasu ne a wani asibiti a Landan ranar 11 ga watan Yuni 2018. Hon. Justice Innocent Umezulike Foundation, wacce aka kafa bayan rasuwarsa, ta gudanar da taron tunawa da shi a ɗakin taro na Justice IA Umezulike, da ke harabar babbar kotun jihar Enugu a watan Satumbar 2019, na cika shekara ɗaya da rasuwarsa tare da gabatar da littafin Hon. Justice Innocent Umezulike: Tarihin Jagoran Hukunce-hukunce Juzu'i na 1.[9][10]
