'Yar ƙabilar Hutu ce ta majalisar National Council for Defence of Democracy-Forces for Defence of Democracy (CNDD-FDD), ta maye gurbin Jean Minani na Front for Democracy a Burundi (FRODEBU), wanda ya kasance shugaban majalisar dokokin ƙasar tun a 2002.

Daga baya ta yi aiki a matsayin ministar haɗin kai ta ƙasa, komowa, sake gina ƙasa, kare hakkin ɗan Adam, da Jinsi tun daga watan Yuli 2007.[2] An zaɓe ta a matsayin mai ba da shawara a COMESA.

An haife ta a Gatara (Lardin Kayanza), Nahayo ta kasance mahaifiyar ’ya’ya shida. Mijinta, Simon Nyandwi, ya kasance ministan cikin gida har zuwa mutuwarsa a ranar 22 ga watan Maris 2005.

Nyandwi ta mutu a ranar 17 ga watan Nuwamba 2018 a Brussels, Belgium, tana da shekaru 70. [3]
