Gishiri na kogin wani nau'in gishiri ne da ake samarwa a Kenya daga raƙuman kogin da ake kira muchua [1] wanda ke tsiro a gefen kogin Nzoia. [2] Ana tunanin cewa tushen wannan al'ada ya samo asali ne tun a ƙarni na 17, lokacin da mutanen Bukusu suka yi hijira daga yankin kogin Kongo.[3]

Wurin da ake yin gishiri a al'adance shine ƙauyen Nabuyole a mazaɓar Webuye na gundumar Bungoma.[3] Don samar da gishiri, mucua  ana tattara ciyawar da ke tsiro a gefen kogin, a bushe, sannan a ƙone su don a fara samun toka. Sai a sanya tokar da aka tattara a cikin wani jirgin ruwa tare da magudanar ruwa. Ana wucewa da ruwa a hankali kuma a tattara a cikin jirgin ruwa a ƙasa. Ana tace maganin sannan a tafasa a sami lu'ulu'u na gishiri wanda a al'adance ake haɗawa a cikin ganyen ayaba.[2]
