English: FROM VISHO SHARMA EMAIL 17 Nov 2007: In the first row: extreme left is my Tayaji (A.B. Sharma, Ved Sharma and Sat Bali-Sharma's dad), B.R. Sharma (Head Clerk, law firm; Arya Samaj leader). Next to him stands a fellow Arya Samaji, Ram Rakha Sethi. In the middle (white suit) is probably another Arya Samaji, LEGCO member, A. Pritam– Rongai miller. At the end is Babu Ram Bhalla, another Arya Samaj president, employee of Crystal Springs. He died at what we considered the old age of 55.Seated on the extreme left is Masterji Lahori Ram, with whom I played serious bridge at the Nairobi Gymkhana well into his 80s -- at his age, he was sooooooo forgiving. Seated left on the floor is Karam Chand Chopra (disguised perhaps as his brother Dharam Chand). In the 2nd row (standing), the second guy (behind the darooroo) is another Samaji, a Ghai guy; at the end, in glasses, is Basti Ram Ghai, another Samaji, who, pushing 70, used to travel from his father's Ruiru store, M.R. Ghai and Sons, to play bridge and poker with us -- I don't think his father appreciated it; we did.A Samaji, his claim to fame was that he was the father of someone I loved; Dr. Dharam Ghai; and Yash Ghai, whom I adored. Just behind him, looking bloody Joorpeen, was the legendary Dandora farmer, Kehar Chand Kent -- he could, and did, eat a whole deer makhani! Behind him, in the top rt. hand corner, quite likely is Balbir who owned a music store on River Road, near Filmindia Cinema.
