Lambun ya mamaye yanki mai girman hekta 64.8. An buɗe shi a watan Maris, shekarar 1890 kuma Gwamna William Brandford-Griffith da Dr John Farrell Easmon, likitan Saliyo ne suka kafa shi.[1] Kafin a kafa lambun, wurin ne da aka gina gidan tsafi a cikin shekarar 1875 don jami'an gwamnatin Gold Coast. A lokacin gwamnan William Brandford-Griffith, wani ɗan mishan na Basel kuma ɗan Moravian na Jamaica, Alexander Worthy Clerk, ya kula da aikin share fili a kewayen gidan tsafi don fara Sashen Botanic.[2] A cikin 1890 William Crowther, dalibi daga Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, an nada shi mai kula da lambun na farko.[3] Lambunan sun taka muhimmiyar rawa wajen karfafa noman koko a cikin Kudancin Ghana, ta hanyar samar da koko mai arha da bayanai game da hanyoyin noman kimiyya.[4] Bayan an aika Hevea brasiliensis zuwa Aburi daga Kew a cikin shekarar 1893, lambunan sun kuma karfafa samar da roba a Ghana.[5]
