Taron ( c. 1824 - 18 Oktoba 1836) ya kasance shahidi Kirista kuma mai bajinta . A watan Afrilu na shekara ta 1835, an bude tashar mishan a Matamata ta Reverend Alfred Brown da matarsa, Charlotte, don Church Missionary Society.

A cikin shekarar 1836, an ba Tarore kwafin Harshen Māori na farko na Linjilar Luka, kuma daga littafin, Charlotte Brown ta koya wa Tarore karatu.[1] Saboda ikonta na haddace yawancin bishara, an dauki Tarore a matsayin mai ban mamaki. Za ta karanta wasu sassan bishara ga taron jama'a 200-300 kuma mahaifinta ya goyi bayan ta a matsayin mai bishara.[1][2]

Makonni da yawa bayan haka, a Rotorua, Uita ya nemi ziyarar tsohon bawa, makarantar mishan da ta ilimantar da Ripahau (wanda aka fi sani da Matahau) na Ngāti Awa don bayyana masa littafin.
